Delayed

A Poem About a Delayed Train

By Chloe GilholyPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

Yikes! I need to sleep.

The train leaves early tomorrow.

I haven't even packed!

Goodnight Phone.

The alarm's gone off.

Time to get up.

I'm all packed ready to go.

Atrocious pain on my heels.

Fearful news passing by on wheels.

Bothersome woes buried away.

Whilst wishing public transport

Was more punctual,

A profound announcement:

It’s delayed again:

Another dull five minutes!

Eating away the time...

The indolent seconds pass.

An immaculate jingle.

"Platform 3 for the delayed

10.15 CrossCountry service to Bournemouth!"

I breathe a keen sigh,

At last, it’s here!

Time to get my body bronze,

And my feet soaked.
