Dear Social Worker,

Thank you

for helping me be

a better member

of society.

Thank you

for helping me

cope with

anxiety.

Thank you

for the pills

that aren't making me

quite happy

(but are helping!).

Thank you

for the talks

and listening to me.

If nothing else

having someone listen

means the most to me.

Thank you

for explaining

other situations

which may arise for me.

Thank you

for showing

another way,

another road,

open to me.

Thank you

for reminding me

it's not all

about me.

me me me.

Thank you

for teaching me

to live

without constantly

needing you

to hold my hand.

Thank you for teaching me

to hold my own hand.

With gratitude,

Hillery

Hi! ^_^

My name is Hillery, with an 'e.' Nice to meet you. I'm new here but I've been writing poetry and flash fiction since I was a child. I like to write in the way that I think, so I guess it's kind of stream-of-consciousness at times.

Nice and feel good. Holding our own hands is harder than it sounds.
