Dear Hope

A poem.

Hope with Her Anchor by Merry-Joseph Blonde | Courtesy National Gallery of Art

Dear Hope,

Please don't go.

I know it might not mean much

Coming from me,

Since we've grown apart lately.

***

I wonder if it's because of the distance

Or the disconnect between us.

Or maybe because someone else was there for you

When I suddenly withdrew.

***

But please don't leave.

Not completely.

Because I will still always

Be there for you.

Will you be there for me too?

Love,

Nadine
