I was supposed to be asleep
Down the stairs, I creep
Man clad in red I find
He turns into mist and flies out an open window
stockings are filled
Gifts under the tree
I listen for the sound of Santa’s sleigh bells
I curl up on the couch and wait
and I wait.
I fall asleep, waiting
