the box arrived just about noon. it was just there. no card. no formal announcement or indication of how it arrived

a red velvet box with a white satin ribbon

the scent of them permeated the air the minute the top was lifted to reveal what was inside

twelve perfect strawberries. dipped to perfection. in chocolate. hearing myself sighing in pleasure

already me tasting the smell that lingered on my tongue. their juices dripping down my throat and my chin to my fingers

someone loves me

with each bite my body tingled with the anticipation of another. hearing myself licking chocolate and strawberry from myself

someone really loves me

mmmm I do

love poems
