Keepers of Light and Dark

Keep out the light or hold the light inside,

Folded and falling, tethered by a string;

Eyes open, in the darkness, where I hide.

Weather dark, contemplating suicide,

Pull me up and rid my soul of these things;

Keep out the light or hold the light inside.

In my place, my home is where I preside,

To enjoy all of that which the Lord brings;

Eyes open, in the darkness, where I hide.

In the cold the sinful devil replied,

With the song of temptation that he sings;

Keep out the light or the hold the light inside.

Afraid to move, whether in or outside,

Lock the door, ignore the world when it rings;

Eyes open, in the darkness, where I hide.

The light defeats the dark by a landslide.

Two Angels that finally get their wings.

Keep out the light or hold the light inside,

Eyes open, in the darkness, where I hide.
