Distracted, though I was

It was your story that sent my mind spiraling

Somehow just your melodic voice

Talking about your day or how you're feeling

Renders me helpless

Against my ever fleeting thoughts

Caring, though I am

Truthfully, my mind was floating somewhere

Else I'd recite your story, but

Distracted so I was, by your deeply captivating eyes

love poems
