Awakening

Poem

By Jo CarsonPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Sometimes I feel like I'm drowning

In oceans of the deepest blue

Where love is lost and hope is bound

In the loneliest darkened hue

But as my soul begins to shake

Skin tingling with a crimson burn

This panic could be a weapon unmastered

A power I have yet to learn

I can lie here awake for hours

Watching every tone in the night sky

Wasting breath on burying this feeling

Whilst my life just passes by

So in the light and shade of balance

As opposed to seeking a cure

My mind cannot be saturated

For I don't see things like before.
