There in the distance is a beautiful scene
postured as many different things.
A garden pollinated by bees
brings to life what we need
for the sustenance of everything.
In the soil we plant seeds
hope for rain
above anything.
Watch the plants grow
pulling out all the weeds
to ensure the growth that we see.
Tomatoes are the first to sprout
their acidic taste will water your mouth
combined with the unmatched aroma
which will make its way into the salsa.
I walk down the fresh-cut grass
smelling the blades of dewed fescues.
An orchard grows to my left;
apples, cherries, peaches, and pear
scents flood the air.
The green walnut smell is unpaired
as I walk under the canopy of the oldest tree here.
Towering thirty feet in the air
I push my kids on the swing attached there.
There's much more in my life
that brings me comfort
that I'd like to recall and write
unfortunately, I'm out of time
so, I must bid you goodbye.
