An Artful Dodger
Plucking Gold off the Street
Gainfully employed as a rapscallion
Leisurely picking pockets and swindling in a manner contrary to valiance
He's got his own little battalion
Street urchins galore and sleazy charm by the gallon
"See there that old codger?
The one with a cardinal feather in his cap?
Fuller on gin and rum than the Jolly Roger
Go on and relieve him of his watch while he lies on the curb for a nap."
It's a real skill you'll need to possess
If you're eager to stay in the Dodger's good graces
Keep away from the parish lest you feel the need to confess
In no time you'll be off to the races
Gentlemen in top hats, betting bills heavy in their silk coats
Let your fingers be featherlight, leave no traces
You'll be shoveling it all into boats
Now quit your dallyin'
The bar's closing again
And all our fine feather capped friends are having their lie downs in the street, wealth a-varyin'.

About Writing
Most people talk about things that bother them as a way to vent their emotions, another way is through writing. As I sit writing in my car, I ponder how much writing, in itself, has helped me become the person I am today. I have endless amounts of pages filled with poems, stories, and sometimes random blurbs. Writing is a window into your soul. The simple action of writing has benefited me; by helping me to achieve a better memory, helping me to learn and grow intellectually, and helping me to communicate my emotions.
