After the Parades

After the parade, I remain completely and utterly myself

I am unchanged and unmoved

I am strong and I am not myself-LESS

But so much more

Paint the pictures in your minds eye

I implore you to use every color in your arsenal

For I am connected to all beyond the limits of the sky

Layers and layers of color laid, new colors emerging

The world around us, so complex, such harsh truths

Needs to be seen in the colored lens of love, understanding and forgiveness

We know so much more now than we did then

We can do better

We deserve better

We demand better!

After the parade, I continue to shine

I send my message of peace and love out into the Universe

Healing Mother Earth, healing those whose intentions are pure

Healing myself from things I endured

I will be your pillar of strength, your port in the storm

I am not afraid, after the Parade
