Love's tides might ebb and flow,
with ephemeral highs and lows.
A love that is initially very alluring,
can develop over time into a painful experience.
The passion initially burns so fiercely,
Every second spent together is pure joy.
However, as time passes and tempers flare,
The romance that once burned out fades.
Disputes might turn into physical clashes,
And romantic days might become lonesome nights.
misunderstandings and offensive language,
can leave permanent scars, much like birds.
However, much as the sea fluctuates,
It can all be vanquished by the tides of love.
Forgiveness, perseverance, and work
No matter how severe the storms, we can survive them.
By helping one another up when we stumble,
and supporting one another.
The connection that was sparked by a spark,
can tolerate anything, regardless of how grim.
For love is more than just a desire or an emotion,
It's a choice to aim and commit.
To endure the adversity and enjoy the journey,
and continue to walk side by side during each step.
Ride the waves of love with faith and optimism.
For the happiness and laughter that accompany such!
There may be ups and downs during the path,
But at the end, there is a lot of pure love!

He does not like poetry; I write it anyway and do not tell him. It's true his face is not a poet's face. It is round and open, youthful; too apt to be compared to the sun. His nose is neat. It is impossible to imagine him smoking a cigarette, terse, full of cheekbones and tension. His warmth burns my fingertips. I am here for his fascinating body, the haphazard freckles I touch one by one; he is here for my eyes, just my eyes. A sunbeam sneaks through the curtains and pierces us both, sizzling the spices of his skin. I inhale and wrap myself in him. He kisses my eyes.
