A Star is Born
A Found Poem
In a desert, beautiful night
Laying in a pile of stars looking at a sand filled sky, truly
A star is born bright
*
Bemusement bare, transfixed, a sight
in the burn of the night’s cold wind, I'll be
In a desert, beautiful night
*
Silver streams of the night’s sun white
My eyes twinkle, liberated--I breathe
A star is born bright
*
I lay listless, in the night
Drifting, I dream, seconds like hours -- no reality
In a desert, beautiful night
*
I’m engulfed in acceptance's sight
The end, the beginning, for me
A star is born bright
*
Filled with empty joy tonight
I let go, for me
In a desert, beautiful night
A star is born bright

Excellent poem
This is exceptionally beautiful, Jennifer! I really love the connection you made with the repeating verse, "In a desert, beautiful night". So many empowering and inspirational vibes in here 🥹
I appreciate your brave spirit in delving into places to unearth the beauty even in dark places.
"Thank you for painting this beautiful picture with words. The poem leaves me with a sense of wonder and an appreciation for the quiet moments of existence."
Oh no, I'm so sorry you didn't get to enter this into the challenge 🥺 Your Villanelle was so beautifully written and the ending felt so liberating!
This was supposed to be submitted into the villanelle challenge. It was gone before 11:58.... kind of depressing since I thought we could enter until 11:59. Anywho, this is a found poem that I felt would be perfect for the villanelle challenege since I wrote "A Star is Born" with a style like villanelles in mind. I thought writing a poem that was a challenge within a challenge would be amazing as well. It was considerably difficult since I had limitations regarding words and rhyme schemes....Was definitely fund and I would do it again for sure!
