They met under the mistletoe

when they had no idea how to kiss.

Went off into their own lives,

but still couldn’t help but miss

the very first lips that

hugged their faces.

She smiled as she remembered

him tripping over his untied

laces as she caught his fall.

Never wanting to leave that spot at all,

but having to cause life goes on.

Both were once married with too much

class to ask the other to meet.

They only lived down the street.

Then, one day his mother called

and wanted her to come over.

His mother was worried about her son.

He had lost his wife and daughter

in a terrible crash.

The woman was stunned,

so she came.

When they saw one another again,

they each lit up in flames.

The mistletoe was calling their names,

and they answered.

His Mother lit peppermint

scented candles.

The man’s arms wrapped

tightly around her hips;

she never felt mishandled.

Made one another better,

and followed their partner

wherever.

Underneath of the mistletoe,

they formed a love that would

last forever.
