A Message to a Generation

Our Lives Matter

By Lady TolbertPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

A Message to A Generation

Are we like beasts

in these streets

because our skin is dark

So, that makes us a mark

A suspect, a criminal

A message so loud,

not subliminal.

Are they scared of our minds?

What we could be

It's our time.

You can't kill the dream,

it's alive,

it won't die.

Paid by those

who sacrificed their life's.

You might try to bury us,

but we refuse to die.

We will live.

We will rise.

We will speak out against injustice

against others

against us.

We will take action

for our actions,

refuse to be stereotyped.

We will stand,

we will be fight

not with our hands,

not by might.

We will educate,

and be educated.

We will celebrate,

and be celebrated.

We will elevate,

and be elevated.

We have overcome the past.

We will not be turned backward.

We will live,

we will love.

We will keep on marching forward.
