A Last Eclipse

July 26, 2018 eclipse in Kabul

By Parwana FayyazPublished 2 months ago Updated 2 months ago 1 min read
own photograph: in Kabul, July 26th 2018.

Early risers fell asleep faster, at midnight that's when the

Crimson-celestial silvered moon dressed in blood arrived above the

Lands of mines and bombs, soaring over the tombs of unnamed bodies.

I couldn't unsee what I saw amidst the brightest stars in the holy space,

Pre-COVID, before the Fall, neither in sheer beauty nor in the ugly hearts,

Silently the moon danced with blood-stained eyes, and it saw us seeing an

Eclipse phase for humans on Earth, total veiling in darkness for itself.
