A grain of salt

Something I frequently forget about

By AJPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

One day it will become so agonizingly clear that precious morsels of time were wasted compiling our lives into worries, insecurities and eventually's,

This, is not your forever, I guarantee it

Because, after the sun finally starts to seem brighter, the grass -matted and brown- begins to emerge from beneath a blanket of snow, and the light in the evening lasts a bit longer every night

Frost will settle back in on the bare branches outside, the sun once assuring it was 'here to stay', will retreat behind storm clouds, and plants in the windowsill that were finally beginning to green up will lose their lustre again

But spring will come, and after complaining about another arduous relentless winter, everyone will find something about it to take contention with too, like the way it makes it hard to breathe, muddy paws finding the cleanest floors, or there not being enough---or too much rain

What I'm trying to say is; then, spring will lead to summer, will lead into fall, will lead into winter

Frost will thaw,

Snow will melt,

Buds will bloom,

Grass will green,

Paw prints will fade,

Leaves will die,

Hair will grey

Skin will wrinkle,

Bodies will change,

Friends will be lost,

Essays will be missed,

$5 will be found in an old pair of pants,

Red wine will start to taste good,

There will be another new favourite song and book and place

Everything has the capacity to change---to be changed, so take it all with a grain of salt
