Welcome back to the Roaring '20's!

What is it about the '20's?

By Jen PhillipsPublished 4 years ago 3 min read

Welcome back to the Roaring ‘20’s! What does that even mean? The roaring '20'? For centuries there has been an eventful decade of the '20's. In the 1920's we had with the Great Depression, with the first world war ending it resulted in a Great Depression. Also, the plague resurfacing but that didn’t stop the world from accomplishing things. Many American's owned cars, radios, and telephones for the first time.

So, the modern American was able to, slowly, but able to dig themselves out of the depression. They had used this to their advantage and look where it got them? It’s a whole new world today. Having something like that happen between the plague and the great depression has an affect on not just a person, singularly, but as a community. No one wants to have that happen to them and it is an awful feeling when it does.

So, how can we prevent, or at least make things easier so it doesn’t go south again? In order for this not to happen again or at least help with this people have to change their ways. As a community, needs to work together in order to make the world go around.

Now that it is 2020, Welcome back to the roaring ‘20’s! Just like that we don’t even get to through the first of the decade and we already faced with the new age plague, Covid-19. We are just going go right in for the plague. Then maybe, just maybe we will go for the perks after this goes away, maybe?

We've always been told about how Roaring the '20's having be roaring. But roaring in what way? Yes, in each of the '20's have had their great, amazing perks. But, with every perk there is a consequence. But apparently here in 2020 we are just going right for it!

They say that 2020 is the year to get everything accomplish or to get the ball going. New year, New decade they say. With the world that we live in today, we have an advantage even with the plague going around.

The advantage that we have compared to the rest of the Roaring '20's in the new world is that we have technology. Technology is to our advantage because while the world is falling apart and is putting us on a time out and sending us to our rooms for a month or until further notice to think about what we have done.

But having technology in our Roaring '20's is to our advantage compared to the rest of the '20's in the past. Even though we have been banished to our rooms for a while we at least get to FaceTime each other and able to contact the outside world even though we are all in our rooms. We also have the advantage of working from home in order to keep the ball rolling and continue to make the '20's roaring. Well, for those of us who have the advantage of working from home at least. But, none the less not even the plague can stop us from making this a roaring decade.

Once we go back to regular programming, or what would be the new regular programming at least. With what we have today and the technology we have, we have an advantage of growing even more. We have the opportunity to take this virus and we are able to adapt to it like nothing is wrong. We have the advantage of working from home, doing home schooling, even able to exercise from home. Not all of the time you need gym equipment in order to workout. First world problems much?

With this new world we live in today where would the Roaring ‘20’s take us? So far, doesn’t look so good. If we could learn anything from the past ‘20’s and what experiences they have gone through and what great things they also accomplished even in the worst of times. So, if we could learn anything from that it would be that even in the worst of times there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. Once we finally hit that light of the tunnel and look back of what we have accomplished. We can take that experience and we can learn from that. By taking the experience and learn how we can make changes for the better or have to make changes to fix life in general.

With this said I can’t wait to see what this decade has to say.
