Dreaming Big Despite the Uncertain Course of Life

Dare to live.

I'll travel all the countries of the world before I turn 30. I'll finish my PhD by the time I turn 25. I'll repay all my loans in the next three years so that I can finally start living the way I want. I'll go on my first solo backpacking trip as soon as I juggle to earn enough money for it. But what if I don't earn enough to wander the world? What if I have to take loans to study further and end up paying them back all my life? What if my flight crashes? What if I end up catching some deadly disease and die? What if...

We are surrounded by so many questions everyday. According to research, human beings have an average of 50,000 to 70,000 thoughts per day. People who have anxiety issues and over-thinkers like myself will know how hard it is to go through a typical day when all you're surrounded by is negativity. How hard do we try to explain to people that these thoughts aren't even in our control? They pop up at the weirdest of times—be it when I'm making out with a guy or worse when I'm about to go to bed after a productive day. It's almost like they have some sort of a conscience of their own and welcome themselves in vulnerable people's lives. Thoughts that go through our mind every minute of the day are obviously out of our control, but do you know what is in our control? The way we choose to prioritize them. Now, I know this sounds very therapeutic when you read it, but actually being out there and living through these destructive missiles is a battle on its own.

I'm not here to instruct anyone regarding how to train your thoughts and your conscience to stay in the positive light; that you can do by Googling the same and finding hundreds, if not thousands, of potential techniques or solutions. To be honest, I haven't been able to achieve the feat myself. I'm here to expand upon an opinion that I wholeheartedly believe in: Dare to dream in spite and despite of not knowing what's to come. The future is uncertain, we all are aware of this fact. We do not know what's going to happen tomorrow. What if you're on your way to work or school and get in a fatal car crash? What if your workplace catches fire and you die? This is another quest of what ifs that you will perhaps never find an answer to. You can't keep worrying about what can and what might happen in the future when it is not even in your hands. I know it's difficult to not think about the tomorrow. I know how absolutely cliche it sounds when people talk about living in the now. But tell me this. Do you have any other choice? Even though science is magnanimously expanding around the world, they still haven't been able to discover a damn time machine. There's no way to be certain if things are going to work out in your favor or not. Life is unfair, and all you can do is try your best to get to your goal. Dream big because you can. Life may ultimately pull you down, but you'll go down knowing that you gave it all you had. You can't stop dreaming because you don't know what tomorrow will look like. Yes, it can be hard to imagine your future working out for you when you can't even improve your present. But what option are you left with? What else can you do to keep yourself going? The simple answer to this question is nothing more than what you or I am doing. We are all in the same boat, trying to get through whatever life throws at us. But let's do something new from today. Let's dream a little bit more. Let's expand our imagination and fantasize about something that we may think is impossible to achieve. Why you may ask?

Simply because we can. Simply because our mind allows us to.

Let us get a bit creative and change these ravaging missiles to seeds for harvesting our tomorrows, ya?
