Have you ever wondered why we experience negative feelings such as hate, disappointment, shame, anger…?

Have you ever wondered, when you are having a bad day, thinking “This can’t get any worse” why your day ends up getting worse?

Haver you ever wondered why there a fewer of the “nice” thoughts. The positive thoughts. “Positive enhancers” as I would call them. Thoughts and feelings such as love, happiness, gratitude.

It is a simple fact, that humanity needs more of THAT.

Have you ever wished the negative stuff in your mind would just fade away and stop dragging us and our moods down?

We easily get into the habits of thinking “I don’t want to be fat anymore” or “No one loves me” or “I hate being lonely” or “I don’t like doing that” or “I can’t do that”.

Did you notice, there is too much of “hate”, too many “don’ts” and “cant’s” and too less “wants” in here!

My goal for the year of 2021, is to improve my positive thinking and achieve fulfilment and happiness throughout the process. Yes, it is a process. It takes time and well…a little bit of effort, rather a small contribution from myself. Call it what you want, a new mindset, a new behaviour a new habit; I am practicing it every day and I will show you how.

Gratitude

Wake up in the morning and be thankful for what you already have. Write a list of the things you are grateful for.

Sit in stillness and let it sink it.

The Law of attraction explained

You see, negative thoughts retrieve negative feelings, which allow negative actions.

Thoughts turn into feelings; feelings turn into actions! You think positively you will get positive emotions; positive things will happen to you. You have negative thoughts you will get negative emotions and negative things will happen to you or even surround you.

This is called the law of attraction. It is a new thought philosophy which believes that if you ask the universe for something you will get it, good or bad.

I am not a philosopher or anything even near that; I am simply a young woman, trying to become a better writer and a better self, using opportunities.

But I genuinely believe, it is up to the individual how to interpret the Law of attraction.

I would not lay back and wait for the universe to reward me with something. I will do something for it, using the law of attraction, using positive thinking, allowing positive emotions.

Turn things around

You remember all the hate in the above sentences? All the “don’ts”, "cannots" and negativity?

Why do we not turn all this negativity around! Let’s kick the pessimism in the butt and say, “I WANT to be fit”, “I WANT to be healthy”, “I LOVE doing that” “I will love myself and show it, so others can see how awesome I am!”

I think, if changing, even erasing something you might not like; you can achieve everything you ever dreamt of.

Cognitive reframing

A key component of achieving full happiness is to change the cognitive way of doing things. As mentioned above, thinking and being more positive will help immensely. You need to shift your attention from what you don’t want to something you want.

Visualization comes into play now. Visualization is something so big and yet small thing to do.

Close your eyes for a moment and think of something you would like to achieve or have this year. It could be something like getting a new car, running a marathon, or winning this competition. Think of yourself achieving this right now. You are in this moment right now. It is happening. Think of HOW are you feeling? Happy? Full of energy? You can see it in front of your eyes. You are VISUALIZING. Now think through the steps you must take to achieve this beautiful goal. Visualize them as well and start actioning it. It will come to you. You just need to keep going. Embrace the journey and the happiness.

Start your day waking up, thinking “Today is going to be a good day”. It can do magic, believe me.

Since the day, my life has been turned upside down, as it did for many others, I wanted to become something bigger. Something with more meaning and which requires a huge skillset and a healthy mindset.

An example

My goal is to become a paramedic. I am visualising this every day and I action on it. I am confident I will reach that goal.

I am sitting on the ambulance, driving under blue light conditions, traffic is heavy, but everyone makes space for the ambulance to rush through. We stop, my colleague and I run to the back of the ambulance and grab the first aid medical kit and our paramedic back packs, we ran towards the patient, there is a lot of blood. The patient is not conscious. He is about to bleed out. We act fast and treat him. I know we saved his life.

I smile and say, “This is going to be me!” It is something that will happen. I am the author of my destiny and my life.

What will I to do to achieve this?

1. I will get a full UK driving licence in April.

2. I will pass the C1 licence category in April to drive heavier vehicles.

3. I will finish my Paramedicine Access diploma in June.

4. I will leave my current job as a carer and apply as an emergency care assistant with the South-Central Ambulance service in England.

5. I will pass the interview and the driving assessment.

6. I will start working as an Emergency care assistant. I will start saving lives!

7. After two years I will become a Student paramedic, working myself up the ladder. Earn and learn.

8. After a few years of practicing Paramedicine, I will work myself up and become a specialist Paramedic working on a helicopter or in catastrophic even hazardous areas.

So, there you have it. It is not only a plan. It is a route laid out for me, by me. I am the creator. I will do the same with achieving other things.

A summary of achieving happiness.

If you want to achieve your goals, happiness, fulfilment will need to WANT, not HAVE TO.

4 simple steps

1. Show gratitude.

2. Reframe your thinking, shift your attention from negative thoughts to positive thoughts. Start your day with joy getting up rather than loathing the day ahead. Remember positive things will start to happen and surround you.

3. Visualise your goals.

4. Take action.

Thank you!

One day I will be myself again,

and this darkness might come to an end,

and all doubt will cease,

and all strength will rise.

One day my tainted memories will be left behind,

and I will be able to see the world through a clear lens.
