Md. Hedayetul Aziz Munna’s life was once marked by normalcy and routine, much like anyone else's. However, fate had a different path in store for him. In 2008, a devastating road accident resulted in a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed. From that moment, a wheelchair became his constant companion. Many who saw him might have thought his life had come to a tragic halt, but Munna was determined to prove them wrong. Defying all odds, he rose from the depths of despair to create a new narrative—one of resilience, determination, and unwavering spirit.

After the accident, Munna faced a life that was drastically altered. The initial days were filled with pain and the daunting reality of his physical limitations. However, he refused to let his disability define him. Instead of succumbing to his circumstances, Munna harnessed an indomitable willpower to not only rebuild his life but to also inspire others facing similar challenges. In 2013, Munna founded the Dream for Disability Foundation (DDF) with a mission to integrate people with disabilities into mainstream society. His vision was clear: to empower individuals with disabilities and provide them with the tools and opportunities to lead independent lives. This foundation became a beacon of hope for many who thought their disabilities confined them to the shadows of society.

One of Munna’s significant contributions through DDF is the establishment of a comprehensive training center. This center offers a variety of technical training programs, including computer skills, to young individuals with disabilities. Munna’s goal was to create a platform where these individuals could gain practical skills and knowledge, thus enabling them to secure employment and achieve self-sufficiency. Munna also recognized the power of sports as a means to foster confidence and teamwork among people with disabilities. Under his leadership, the DDF Wheelchair Cricket Team was formed. This team, representing Bangladesh, went on to win the Champions Trophy twice by defeating India’s wheelchair cricket team. The triumphs of this team are a testament to Munna’s belief in the potential of every individual, regardless of their physical limitations. In addition, he established the DDF Physically Challenged Cricket Team and the DDF Physically Disabled Football Team, further promoting inclusivity and participation in sports.

Munna’s relentless efforts and significant contributions did not go unnoticed. In 2019, he was honored with the Successful Disabled Person Award by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh. This accolade was a recognition of his remarkable achievements and his dedication to improving the lives of people with disabilities. Munna has also been the recipient of the International Excellence Award, the Social Service Award, and India’s prestigious Ashoka Award, among others. These honors highlight his global impact and the far-reaching influence of his work.

Munna’s commitment to helping others extends beyond his foundation’s regular activities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he and his team put their lives at risk to deliver food and relief materials to various parts of the country. Collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations, they ensured that aid reached those most in need. Munna's humanitarian efforts during this crisis exemplify his Md.
