A New Beginning

Fresh out of high school, I have no plans. I'm working two jobs, and I am hoping something that has been a lifelong passion for me can turn into something that I can do and maybe, just maybe, earn some money. Not super worried about money, but it could be beneficial for motivation.

In high school, I took many classes to improve my writing skills, but I'm hoping to get better as I spend more time on Vocal. I am excited to give this a try. Thank you to the creators of Vocal for sparking my excitement again for writing.

As Vocal becomes my new home for writing, I hope to be able to inspire and write about the things that interest me. I'm not concerned about winning, but I want to share stories with communities that will enjoy them. I am excited to join a challenge and see what I can create. That's my favorite part.

As this is a new beginning, I am nervous about writing these pieces and possibly not getting any feedback or views. I put a lot of work into making these worth the read. Articles like this might not get very much engagement because it's personal, and I understand that, but I want to look back on this in a few years and be amazed by how far I have come.

As for some advice for those that are maybe scared to start a new adventure, they are sometimes fun and nerve-racking but worth it. It's either worth it because it will be better than what is happening now or a lesson. I tried all through high school to find a job that I could be paid to write, but I wanted to write about what I was interested in. I couldn't, so I kept searching, and I found Vocal. So, what is the moral of the story? Keep trying, you may fail, but you will succeed, even if it's small. Plants start small, but they grow into something beautiful. So, please don't give up it will be worth it.

Writing this has made me realize that the path I'm going to walk down will be difficult but worth it in the end. This realization is the most significant motivating factor in my life. The pressure in high school to select your future doesn't help those who don't know how select a path, but I can say with great pride that I have found it.

We all have motivating factors that push us along. A big one throughout my life has been music. Music brings me happiness. So, what brings you motivation in life. Is it pets, family, a hobby, or perhaps more profound? Whatever it is, keep it close and allow yourself to feed off of it.

Growing up, I was not motivated in anything. Nothing was interesting to me until about 6th grade. Then until my teacher gave us writing prompts, I instantly excelled. That's when my teacher identified that I had dyslexia. Dyslexia is a learning disability that makes reading and writing extremely hard. Many people said I would fail school and not get very far, but I am here to prove them all wrong. This new beginning on Vocal will be how I prove to everyone (including myself) that I can do this. Prove them wrong! Prove anyone that doubts you wrong.

Now that I have a way to follow my dreams and can connect with those around this site, I finally have something to look forward to. This new beginning is about to be epic and probably one of the most exciting things I have done. So, what motivates you to do what you do? Are you stopping yourself from achieving a dream because you don't know how? Here is your sign. Try to find out how and then take that leap. It could lead to something even better. Try and try until your dreams are completed.
