Visualizing a Crisis

Depression tears down the mind.

Down and Out

Have you ever been so down that you just don't know what to do next? I definitely have and am going through that right now. With the last year being a crazy roller coaster brought about by Covid-19 and the lack of employment, most of us don't know what we are going to do. Where we are going next? How to pay the bills? It is a never ending questions that many of us have received the taste of lately and it is a very bitter one. I've watch so many good people fall at the hands of uncertainty and a lack of job security. Mentally and financially people are struggling to make way and to provide for their family. What can someone do? What would you do?

Not Qualified

Looking back at this past year for me, there was definitely times where I was not sure what was going to happen. Having to go through a loan modification for our mortgage on our house because we were behind was an eye opener for us. There was also me being let go from my job in January of 2020 was hard enough on us, we were already a month behind on Mortgage and unemployment benefits were to low to make up the difference. My husband never showed how stressed he was. Not only this but we were told that my husband made just over the qualifying income amount and that we did not qualify for food stamps to help feed our family. This put us into a panic of how we were going to survive without any extra income and no one hiring because of the virus and the closure of businesses. The mental struggle was severe and took a toll on both of us as we tried to stay strong for our children. As unemployment began to rise with the extra $600 for those who were currently or starting to apply for these benefits with the loss of their jobs, we started to pull forward in our own home. At this point the damage was already done and catching up was now the game in our household. All we could do was move forward from there.

Moving Forward

Just like what we had to learn this past year, when moving forward seems impossible, take it step by step. Keep your chin up and keep yourself positive about your future. If it seems like you are wasting your time putting in application after application and not getting a response, keep going there will be someone who needs someone like you in their business and it will be the end of your search. Consider that the days of work-at-home has come around and is in full swing, search for these opportunities! This will cut your transportation and daycare costs to almost nothing and in turn you will be making more money. I know this all may seem impossible, I thought it was going to be impossible for me as well. Find your career calling and go after it! Don't let it get away this time, never tell yourself you can't achieve greatness. Because I'll tell you what, you absolutely can do anything you put your mind to! Build that business you have always wanted or work from home like you have always wanted, never lose sight of a positive future for yourself and your family.
