Movies are the creation of humans which have the power to affect anyone’s life in different stages. Watching different genres of movies during childhood helps us to understand how the real world works. Cinema always has the potential to lead us in exploring other characters' lives. It also helps to examine the culture of different communities.

From childhood to adulthood, I saw a lot of movies in various genres that entertained me in many ways it made me laugh, cry, and make me about the complexities of human life. I remember watching a romantic movie thirteen years ago with my elder brother. That movie amazed me from start to end with its emotional layers. I still imagine that it will happen to me. There were a lot of movies I saw with my elder brother that impacted me in different periods in my life.

One example was the movie whose name was “Pursuit of Happiness”. It was a typical hot day which usually happens in April and May. I just woke up from an afternoon nap and I saw my elder brother watching a movie on HBO. When he changed the channel, I saw the name of the movie. I immediately recognized the actor's name was “Will Smith”. I was a child so I was finding it tough to understand English then.

But one thing that I understood is that the protagonist was struggling throughout the movie. I never understood what was going on with him, but one thing I found out was that he was homeless and was struggling for money. Years went on, and one day I searched that movie on Google and found the actual plot of that movie. I read that he went through the most pathetic period a man can endure in his life and went on to become a successful person.

Similarly, I watched many Hollywood movies with my elder brother, such as Titanic, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Harry Potter, Marvel movies, and DC movies. As a kid whenever I watched movies of the DC franchise I often failed to understand the plot of the stories as well as the tough English spoken by its characters. Later on after much research on the plot of their stories, I finally understood the importance of their stories and the inspiration they got from creating them.

Similarly, there were a lot of Indian movies of the '90s and 2000s that I saw had a huge impact on me during my childhood. I learned about the complexities of human emotions which they have to endure through different circumstances. I used to carefully observe the behavior of the actors and inherit their traits into my personality. I used to apply their character traits at my school to look cool in front of my classmates. I was so shaped by their personalities that I constantly acted like them. If it doesn’t end there, then I used to copy the personalities of the characters from various cartoons and television shows.

During my teenage years, I got addicted to various television shows which I used to watch excessively after coming back from school. Those shows had a huge role in creating my interest in pursuing a career in acting. Despite knowing that the shows didn’t present the actual reality, I still believed it had something real in it. Despite all of this, I still cherish those days during my free time. It’s a fact that movies have the potential to influence the masses and I can proudly say that I was one of those people who got influenced by them, be it either Hollywood, Bollywood, cartoons, or television series.
