Craig Monroe, a former player for the Detroit Tigers

Craig Monroe, a former player for the Detroit Tigers and long-time broadcaster with the team, got booted out from his gig at Bally Sports Detroit due to some pretty serious accusations. The guy, 47 years old, is now under by the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office in Florida a lady accused him of doing some really bad stuff back when she was just a kid. Like seriously stuff.

This lady, now 35, claims Craig started abusing her when she was twelve years old. She spilled that her family hosted Craig when he was playing minor league baseball in Charlotte County back in the early 2000s. She says the abuse went on until she 18, when things apparently became "consensual." She also dropped a bombshell accusing him of pimping her out to his buddies during that time.

The allegations popped up on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) back in June but disappeared later on. But guess what? A big shot from Bally Sports Detroit saw the post before it vanished and didn't waste any time taking action. Within thirty minutes of catching wind of these allegations, Craig was shown the door at Comerica Ballpark while prepping for a game against the Washington Nationals on June 11. Since then, no sight of Craig on Tigers' broadcasts.

Craig is swearing up and down that none of this stuff happened like they say. His lawyer even put out a statement saying that Craig is dead serious about clearing this mess up and that he and his family were caught off guard by all this hoopla. The lawyer's pretty confident that once law enforcement does their thing, Craig will be off the hook for good. The statement also talked about how Craig and his fam are all about forgiveness and giving slack to the accuser while having faith that the truth will come out in the end.

The Tigers and Bally Sports Detroit chimed in with their two cents by acknowledging how heavy these accusations are. They made it clear that you won't find Craig on any broadcast schedules anytime soon—they're keeping him on ice indefinitely while they get to the bottom of this mess without saying much more on it right now.

Back in 2012, after finishing his run-in Major-League Baseball (MLB), Craig Monroe hopped on board with the Tigers as an analyst for their broadcasts. He put in nine seasons on MLB teams between '01 and '09, spending most of it with those Tigers plus stints with the Texas Rangers, Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs—wrapping up with some decent stats at .252 batting average, 115 home runs, 433 RBIs, and a .742 OPS over 814 games.

With all these issues swirling around him now though—who knows where he'll end up next? It's anyone's guess what happens moving forward depending on how things shake out with this investigation done by those folks over at Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.

While everybody tries to make sense of all this drama right now—fans are scratching their heads alongside colleagues trying to figure out where they stand here. These days there's talk everywhere about people being held accountable for their actions plus everyone weighing in about social media blowing up like it has been lately—all stemming from deep diving into serious claims like this one.

As things play out from here onwards—you can't help but see how tricky these kinds of abuse claims are to deal with and how much impact they have across the board once they're thrown out into the public eye. Both sides are holding their breath waiting to see what gets uncovered hoping things turn out just right—for everybody involved - once everything shakes out.
