"Brendan, how do you program my mind?"

People would ask me. And I think you're a burg or that's kind of scary. That being said, why did someone once believe that something like you reprograms anything? The majority of folks just need to program something once; they don't need to reprogram it. It seems as though there was never any programming that took place at all. They are culpable for some of these automatic ideas and acts because of all these patterns of occurrences and circumstances that have come together they just happen to them; they're large and appear on their own. It's not as though someone told you what to think. Please accept this.

I am aware that no one has ever sat you down, but it most likely happened just like that. But the individuals who live far away say things like, "Brendan, I need to talk to my mind man because sometimes I just have these constant negative recurring thoughts that come up.”

This is something that has always happened. I can't seem to get rid of them, or occasionally I become fixated on a single negative experience I've had, or I just can't seem to regulate my attention.

Focus, so what they're really having trouble with is becoming more adept at mastering their minds. Now, let's discuss how your thoughts are formed. If you've read my book The Charge or seen any of my other work in High-Performance Academy, you may already be familiar with some of this. We have discussed your mastery of psychology in great detail. I'm going to provide you a straightforward framework to consider, followed by some strategies and tools you may implement right away to improve mental health management. First of all, if you're experiencing negative thoughts and feelings repeatedly, they're just easy. What I mean by that is that you know, understand.

Psychologists like to suggest that we currently have two thought systems. According to the theory of system one, it operates automatically. Just your body's instincts and unconscious, instantaneous ideas that arise, generally signaling to your brain to act before defending you. As a result, it is operating at a very basic, low energy level. Your brain enjoys self-optimization. It prefers to state what we already know and how we might apply it to the circumstance without requiring us to think too hard.

If you have experienced terror in the past, then similar conditions will trigger the same fears in you, telling your body to run away again.

If you've faced difficulties in the past and feel the need to defend yourself, you're right that sometimes those ideas aren't beneficial; they're just reflexive thoughts that come from your brain telling you to take the simplest path possible.

Being able to better take charge of our system, or our ability to more directly work control. Generating, and creating our thoughts and behaviors in the moment rather than relying too much on just the things that come up for us, is a necessary part of becoming a more mature, conscious, and enlightened person. Naturally, we spend the most of our lives in a system-driven, unconscious, and mindless state where we only go through the motions.

However, the most successful people in the world—the top performers—have acknowledged that they must train their minds to support them even when they have instantaneous, automatic thoughts. Those should be robust, effervescent, and self-assured. Something that helps me make wise decisions for my life, not just things to keep me safe, and I believe that one of the easiest things we need to learn is how to do that. This paradigm helps us to understand how ideas become powerful, automatic thoughts in our daily lives.
