Observation Of The Mourning

So I haven't been led to suggest this much at all, but perhaps it is best to make sure that a sink is working before lathering. Especially when in a public restroom, and particularly when there is a mite more than unseen bacteria on a palm pump...

From the boardwalk, to the bathroom, to the present moment

(or maybe "boardroom", for alliteration, as-yet-unestablished context, and et al's sakes)

: an adventure of typical -- proto-typical -- situation and accoutrement.

Business as usual, as it goes.

Incentives

One aspect of my behavior I need to work on concerns the "earning-incentive" equation, so to speak. To reference an idiom for context: the carrot and the stick.

What complicates matters is how work and gain measure up. So often I falter because I perceive my efforts as minimal in comparison with what I treat myself to. Case in point below:

I manifest dysfunction for my choices in numerous ways (or "facsimiles of intent", perhaps):

• Sacrificing free time for straight-up indulgence and an excuse in walking, drinking coffee, and "cruising" for babes
• Blindly bouncing off the wall to see what sticks, and allotting my eggs to incidental baskets
• Lacking tethers of connection between myself and the "natural" World of the human paradigm; the debacle which falls firmly upon us as subservient to Nature -- and not its kin

Much Later (Now)

Felt better after returning to my car, flushing down the remaining acidity of cranberry left over from my salad. Listening to Wayne Dyer on Audible as I prepare myself for what may come to arise through my work.* And no, I don't mean my writing.

I wouldn't be surprised if things started to work against me, because it seems it has always happened as soon as I really feel that I am starting to get ahead.

Of course, drama, among other things, is what listening to Wayne is always helping me to conquer.

* Final Draft Update: Despite the assurance of its suggestion, what I overheard at work had nothing to do with me.

This Concludes My Regular, Unscheduled Programming

As I'm sure is evident with this article--as was and will be with past and future entries of its kind--I have not-quite-devolved into jumbled, mix-worthy fare, leaving achievement to the mercies of a marriage; a union of sprinkled inspirations, and plugging away.

After all, are contrasting elements not united--maybe even sheltered--beneath an umbrella?

Like the spine of a book, it is the critical pivot.

[The] difference that makes the difference, I suppose, is the integrity--the message--of that spine or umbrella. You may start with bound pages, or bind them at the last. It's all a matter of how purely your design in print and material filters out that which detracts from or deters what you desire to be said; because its not only words, but the spaces between them, that must conspire to relay.

Consider it's cousin in Music 101. (Perhaps even Film 101; and so on.)
