An update about my relationship with writing

I've been struggling with deciding the type of content that I would like to pursue writing. I've been trying out a variety of topics, like subjects that from school like How to do Online School Successfully, Gender Stereotypes (from Sociology class), Choosing a Major, etc. I've also written about current events like The Gender Reveal Wildfires, details about the new Disney Princess Movie months before it was released, the time whenGen Z accidentally suggested a Nazi symbol for a matching tattoo, etc.

However, many of those topics were not as fun or interesting for me to research or write about. Lately, I've been trying to explore writing about different genres or topics that actually feel good writing about. I realized that, for some reason, I was holding back writing about topics I could discuss for hours. One of these topics is The Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I've written a few pieces about the MCU, starting with a Black Widow Theory, then some controversial MCU related topics, and then events that could change the films entirely. As a big fan of the MCU, I do have a lot to say about it and have fun talking about it. However, I used to feel uncomfortable filling my entire profile with stuff about the same topic. In my drafts, I have 5 Marvel related pieces that I have been holding out on either writing, editing, or submitting.

One of my Marvel posts is my most read post on this website. However, I have been struggling with posting about it more often and instead have been making filler content.

Another topic I have fun researching or writing about is weird fan theories about fictional works. So many people have these crazy theories for beloved tv shows, movies, and books. It is always interesting to hear how creative some people can be when it comes to putting pieces together to create crazy theories. Even if there is no way those theories would be possible, they are still entertaining to read.

Very recently, I published a blog post titled Dark Fan Theories About 3 of Your Favorite Childhood TV Cartoons. Even if it gets no attention, I had a lot of fun writing it and researching it. Before that, the last piece I posted that was about a fan theory was 9 months ago, when I posted about the Black Widow theory.

A lot of the stuff I chose to write about after that were no fun at all, and I was just posting content just to post content instead of prioritizing my enjoyment.

So, I took a 2 month break. After that 2 month break, I was still burnt out of ideas. I posted Why You Should Shop Business This Holiday Season and then went on another 4-5 month break. Then, I was brought back here when I got an email saying that I had reached 1,000 reads. The website was smart to send these types of emails because now, I was motivated to keep creating.

Now, I've been making sure to post stuff about topics that I enjoy writing about. I know now not to hesitate to write about what I want to write about, as long as I am enjoying myself. There are so many ideas that I have had that I didn't bother even trying to write because I thought it wouldn't be worth writing.

What I've Learned:

1. Even if my posts don't get lots of reads, now I'll still be satisfied and happy with my work.

2. The more passionate about a topic I am, the easier and more enjoyable it is to create the best content for it.

3. I should care more about the content that I am producing, rather than caring more about being able to mass produce content.

4. I need prioritize writing about topics that I want to write about.

I realized that these lessons I've learned may have come easier to others. Some of these lessons may seem very obvious, but it took me way too long to accept them and other people might be struggling with something similar.

I am posting this to mark a transition into where my posts went from unmotivated and posting to just to put something out there to happy and excited to sit down and get my thoughts out there.

Stay tuned for my upcoming projects! I am planning on posting the following, with new Marvel content every Friday:

1. Why The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was Necessary for the MCU to Move Forward - posting this Friday (April 30th)!

2. 10 Cool Nature Facts - posting next Monday (May 3rd)!

3. Dark Theories About Pixar Films - posting next Wednesday (May 5th)!

4. Why WandaVision was Necessary for the MCU to Move Forward - posting next Friday (May 7th)!

5. Lots more!

Thank you for reading my update!
