Life Lessons - Edition #1

because knowlegde is better shared

By Dani WieczorekPublished about a month ago 3 min read

Los Angeles, 2023.

It was almost the end of 2023. As the year cycle was ending and a new one was beginning, I took some time alone to reflect on the lessons life had blessed me with.

I don't believe we came to this life to live alone or to hold on to knowledge, so I write my reflections so they can be a tool for you, my dear reader and friend.

Making sure everyone is content is a losing game. There is a thin line between empathy and lack of boundaries. Knowing where the line stands is a constant exercise of self-love and respect.

Creative acts are inherently uncomfortable. Imagination rules creativity, and believing in something that exists only in your mind requires courage and mental strength. It can be a bunch of pieces of paper glued together, or it can be art. No one can tell but you. No one can make the journey but you. The discomfort leaves in the overthinking. Learn to feel comfortable with the uncomfortable to find your true creative self. We all came to this life to create. We are creators.

Stillness is an illusion. The entire Universe is in constant movement. Earth orbits the Sun with an average velocity of 29,784.8 meters per second, and the Sun itself is moving at about 70,000 kilometres per hour. We are not made to stand still. We are made to embrace changes and learn how to always be in flux. Embrace the flow. Movement is what you need to get where you want to be.

Reciprocity is a fair measurement. It's unlikely that two humans would meet each other halfway every time. Knowing someone will have your back and take care of you when needed is reason enough to act for them. Be sure to focus on the ones that will focus on you when time calls.

Confidence comes when you test your strength. Every strong person I know comes from adversity. We don't get good at things without practising. Resilience comes from experiencing survival. Confidence is built over resilience and bravery (and we have already learned that bravery is a muscle that gets stronger with constant exercise).

Big ideas are made of tiny pieces. Remarkable achievements were never conquered in a day. It's a sum of uncountable actions and effort towards a particular goal. The earlier you learn what you want to achieve, the higher your chances of getting there. Manifest.

Ego is very loud. People will perceive us through the lenses of their perspectives. It's their reality to create, and your reflection may be blurry. Get so comfortable in your skin that external validation becomes meaningless. Quiet the ego.

Have a backup plan to your backup plan. Accepting life is easier if you are willing to adapt and change. Not getting there the first time doesn't mean you failed; it indicates you need to learn a new path. Try again implementing what you have learned.

Turn pain into wisdom. We can't grow in life without experiencing pain. Investigate its origin and evaluate its weight. Deep feelings carry wild knowledge.

Love has many meanings. The way you wish to be loved can be very different from the way someone can show you love. Get clarity on what you expect from a relationship. Finding a math is easier when you know what you are looking for. Don't settle for less than you deserve.

Intuition is not an emotion. It doesn't carry feelings and won't take you in a spiral. Intuition is a steady and smooth voice that speaks calmly. It sits with you and doesn't shake away quickly. It speaks louder in solitude.
