The ghost of the pocong.

This myth is related to the funeral procession of Muslims in Indonesia.

Where when a person dies he will be wrapped by a shroud whose outer part is tied so that it does not open, . And when it is buried, the rope will be removed at the grave by the person who helps in the funeral process.

The straps are usually taken from pieces of shroud.

The myth is that the corpse will become a pocong ghost if the rope is not removed during the funeral process.

It is said that he will haunt the neighbourhood until the rope is removed.

As for the law in Islam itself. Unwrapping the pocong rope is not obligatory, it is only recommended considering the actual function of the rope is to tidy up the corpse.

This pocong myth is also often associated with someone who dies while still having a grudge. For example, dead murdered..

Depiction of the pocong form.

His form is a figure wrapped in white cloth, his hands and times are bound so that he cannot walk and usually pocong in films is depicted walking by jumping even though in myth he floats in the air.

His face is open even though usually the dead person in the pocong is tightly closed. This is an anomaly in the depiction of his form. Where the legs and hands are described as bound because the rope is not opened. Then why can his face be open when the rope on top is also not opened. But that's how the figure is depicted.

For the pocong face itself there are various variations of depiction. Among them, there are those whose faces are intact exactly like the face of the deceased still alive. There are those whose faces are black with burnt eyes, there are those who are characterised by part of their faces with holes due to decay and various other depictions.

Pocong in the modern era.

In this day and age the myth of the existence or appearance of this pocong ghost. It's very, very rare. But even so, the figure of pocong is still creepy in the minds of Indonesians. This can be indicated by the many ghost prank contents where the pranksters will disguise themselves as pocong. There are even criminal cases that utilise this figure. Where the perpetrator will scare his victim by disguising himself as a pocong. Usually this is done in a dark and quiet place. The target is generally motorbike riders where motorbikes are still a means of transport that is widely used by Indonesians. The hope of the perpetrator. The victim will flee leaving his vehicle or faint on the spot to then steal his vehicle or other valuable prices. Such as cash mobile phones and others.

The pocong ghost-themed film is also still a genre that is quite popular among Indonesians.

Tuyul.

The figure of tuyul is described as a small body / midget and a bald head. Does not use clothes only celada underwear. The face of tuyul is very rarely described as scary. He is more often described as a cute little figure. Although there are also those who describe it with flaming eyes and fangs like a vampire.

The myth of tuyul is related to the pesugihan ritual. It is a myth about a special ritual that a person performs in order to get instant wealth by utilising supernatural creatures

Where this tuyul is a pet creature assigned by his master to steal other people's money.
It is also said. If there is a person who walks while hunched over and his hands behind him as if he is carrying another person even though the person is not hunched over and is not carrying another person. It is characterised as someone who is carrying his pet tuyul walking around observing his target environment.

Modern-day tuyul.

The existence of this tuyul is still believed in some areas, especially rural areas, occasionally there are issues about losses that are said to be caused by this tuyul ghost.

Tuyul online.
In the modern era where many things can be accessed via the internet, the term onlineuyul has emerged.

The term online tuyul originated from the many promotions of online shopping applications. With the provisions that are entitled to get a promotion is a single account. And limited.

Finally, many people do account multipliers.

One person can have tens or even thousands of accounts to get a promotion many times. That's where the perpetrators of this are often called maintaining online tuyul.

A simple example. Like a discounted food promotion when ordering using an online application. Usually one account can only enjoy certain promotions a few times or limited. Now someone who duplicates accounts to many to be able to buy food with discounted promotional prices many times is called raising online tuyul. As for the tuyul. yes the line of accounts. because usually the culprit can get a decent income

Of course the latter is not related to myths.

That's just a brief review of the two famous ghost myths in Indonesia. There are still many other variants of ghosts that hopefully we can present reviews on other occasions.

Thank you.
