The Internet-Ghost Story

The Internet

By Manish UPublished about a year ago 3 min read

It was a dark and stormy night, and Sarah was sitting in front of her computer, scrolling through her social media feeds. She had been feeling lonely lately, so she turned to the internet to connect with others. Little did she know that this decision would lead to a terrifying encounter with a ghost.

As Sarah clicked through her Facebook notifications, she came across a message from an unfamiliar account. It was a private message from a user named "Emily," who claimed to be a long-lost friend from high school. Sarah was skeptical but intrigued, so she responded to the message.

Over the next few days, Sarah and Emily exchanged messages, catching up on old times and sharing stories about their lives. Emily seemed like a kind and friendly person, and Sarah enjoyed the feeling of having a new friend.

But as their conversations continued, Sarah began to notice some strange things happening on her computer. Her mouse would move on its own, and her browser would open to strange websites that she had never visited before. At first, she shrugged it off as a glitch in her computer, but the incidents became more frequent and unsettling.

One night, as Sarah was typing out a message to Emily, her computer screen flickered, and a strange message appeared on her screen. "I'm coming for you," it read, and then the screen went black.

Sarah was terrified. She tried to turn on her computer again, but it wouldn't start. In desperation, she called a computer repair service, but they told her that there was nothing physically wrong with her computer. It was as if something had taken control of it from the inside.

Days went by, and Sarah tried to put the incident out of her mind. But then strange things began to happen in her apartment. Objects would move on their own, and she would hear eerie noises coming from the walls. She tried to tell herself that it was just her imagination, but the fear inside her continued to grow.

One night, Sarah woke up to the sound of her front door opening. She got out of bed and cautiously made her way to the living room, but there was no one there. Suddenly, her computer turned on by itself, and a video call from Emily began to play.

But the person on the other end of the call wasn't Emily. It was a ghostly figure, shrouded in mist and staring straight at Sarah with glowing red eyes. Sarah screamed and tried to run away, but the ghostly figure seemed to follow her, appearing everywhere she turned.

For days, Sarah was tormented by the ghostly figure, and she began to feel like she was losing her mind. She tried to reach out to her friends and family for help, but no one believed her story. They thought she was imagining things or making it up for attention.

Finally, in desperation, Sarah turned to the internet for help. She began to research ghost sightings and haunted technology, and she came across a website that offered to connect her with a psychic medium who could help her communicate with the spirit world.

The psychic medium listened to Sarah's story and told her that the ghostly figure was a vengeful spirit who had been haunting Emily for years. Emily had passed away in a car accident, and her spirit had been trapped in the digital world, seeking revenge on anyone who crossed her path.

The psychic medium performed a ritual to cleanse Sarah's computer and apartment of the vengeful spirit, and Sarah felt a sense of peace for the first time in weeks. She realized that the internet, while a powerful tool for connecting people, could also be a dangerous place.

From that day forward, Sarah was more careful about who she talked to online, and she made sure to always protect her digital devices with strong passwords and security software.
