San Diego Comic Con

My Thursday Schedule

By Alexandrea CallaghanPublished about a month ago 3 min read

Schedules are slowly releasing for the week of San Diego Comic Con and just about every major project is going to be there. I am super excited and very lucky to be going all week, including preview night. And just so you guys can join in on all of the fun with me I will be sharing my day by day schedules with yall. As the Thursday schedule was released today we will be starting there, nice and early. Everyone I love is going to be at comic con weekend and I really do need to start practicing fangirling out and being a professional.

I will be starting at 11:00 AM in room 7AB for the 5th Annual Hollywood Game Changers panel. This panel discusses the accomplishments of women in Hollywood, their trailblazing efforts, and how to leave your mark on a still male dominated industry. Obviously as a woman who aspires to work in the film industry this is very important to me. I hope to find some inspiration and make some connections that will help me break into the industry.

From 12:45 to 1:45PM I will be in the DC’s Absolute Power Panel in room 6DE. There is a lot going on at DC right now, both in comics and in television and film. And though I am not sure that there will be any major announcements that have not already been released, it does seem to be a hype panel designed to get the public excited for what DC has coming. As a huge comic book nerd who has been desperately wanting to like DC’s live action movies for a while now I will be attending with cautious optimism. No major names have been announced for this panel but we will see what the rest of the weekend holds.

Then the main event (for me anyway) is from 2:15-3:15PM in Hall H Percy Jackson and The Olympians will be having a panel with all of the main cast. I did weekly reviews as the show was coming out. I will be re-bingeing the series before SDCC (And reading the first book). I LOVED the series, despite book readers' complaints the show was great and I love how talented the young cast is and I truly can’t wait to see them on such a huge stage.

And last but not least I will be capping out the day from 6:00-8:00PM with the Her Universe fashion show. I will be on a press platform taking pictures and as someone who has yet to leave a convention without buying something from Her Universe I am super excited to see all of my shopping options in a super cool fashion show.

I have not chosen an afterparty to go to as of yet. Thursday will probably be our earliest end of the weekend so I am sure that the Temple of Geek team will be going to something at some point in the weekend. But it's already going to be a super expensive weekend so we will flex our press muscles and see what party will put all 11 of us on a list. Other than that Thursday is going to be pretty light, this is fully intentional. I don't want to kill my joints too early in the weekend. I can not wait to see what the rest of the weekend holds, this year there is no writers strike and as such SO MUCH is happening and the very depressed girl curled over her laptop, binge watching Supernatural and going down comic book rabbit holes is so happy.
