Miss Sinister Does It Yet Again With An Eye Popping Mad Max Inspired Shoot
I've talked about Miss Sinister before when I was completely blown away by her Star Wars inspired photo shoot.
I've talked about Miss Sinister before when I was completely blown away by her Star Wars inspired photo shoot. I've kept up with her work since then and I was excited when she hinted at a Mad Max inspired shoot. If there's anyone who can pull off that vibe, it's definitely Miss Sinister. Well, she definitely didn't disappoint. Teaming up with some great photographers, Miss Sinister lives up to her name with some truly fierce and amazing shots.
Shock Art Photography did a pretty solid job of capturing Miss Sinister at her best and these examples are pretty poster-worthy if you ask me.
She also teamed up with Foto Mike whose photos had a more subdued feel to them. It kind of looks like like she's in between some high octane murdering.

I should probably say something smart about the use of light and other photography jargon I don't know but I'll just settle for gushing and saying how fantastic these photos came out. That works, right? Probably.

2023 The Year of Women and Fridging
2023 was an incredible year for women in film. Between Beyonce and Taylor’s concert movies, Barbie and 1 single woman getting nominated for best director at the Oscars there was a lot to celebrate. But just like with anything the universe seeks balance and in 2023 we nerds also experienced something on page and screen that we should have evolved out of decades ago. In the year of Barbie we had not 1, but 2 incidents of fridging in the comic book universe. Both came from Marvel and both are inexcusable. I would love to celebrate how far representation in this field has come, really I would. But I can not do that if we are still making the same mistakes. I am not going to celebrate that there is now less sexual assault in comics. I am not going to celebrate that fridging is less common. I am not going to celebrate that women are infantilized less often in comics. I will not celebrate less. Not in 2024 when every grown person on the planet should know better. I will not be celebrating less. I will celebrate when women are ALWAYS treated like human beings, fictional or not.

Confessions of an Empath
The birds are chirping, and the sun is shining in a cloudless July sky. The vibrancy promises a beautiful day, but the cooing of the Mourning Dove perched on the powerlines seems to be more fitting than the lively songs of the robin flitting through the trees. The melancholic calls of the dove cloak the world in a sadness that hangs like tattered drapes.
