I love a great movie as well as a wonderful tv series. There are so many to chose from today. If you really think though most are reality shows or shows that are on you tube made for and by real people. I am talking about the main stream shows and movies.

Let's take Star Wars first. If you are a fan of Star Wars or A NEW HOPE as it is titled now then you are more than likely gonna like the other eight movies of the set. They also have two spin off titles that help build the story now too. All great works. So if you like those where to next. I think the next step for a Star Wars fan should be the original Battlestar Galactica stand alone movie. It has adventure and a great story line. Should you like what you see continue down the road to the series. It has four series at the moment. The original series run, and a spin off Battlestar Galactica 80's which picks up the journey at a later date. Then you have the new SYFY series of Battlestar Galactica that makes use of better graphics and changes up the storyline some but still really good tv to watch. You also have Caprica which spins off from the new Battlestar Galactica series from SYFY.

Some fans only enjoy Star Trek and some even go down to certain series or shows on that. I like to think of Star Trek as a great story that spans the generations. You have seven series throughout the ages up till now not counting any animated ones. There are at least 2 animated series within the Star Trek realm. Gene (the creator) of Star Trek has passed but his wife and family carry on the tradition. A good show to fill the void if you like Star Trek is another one of his creations called Andromeda. It takes place onboard another ship in a great alliance and has weekly adventures that can be watched on their own but does tell a bigger story if you watch the whole series. It is a great then that after Star Trek.

Now the big two for space adventures are covered, but what if you are a fan of simply space adventures themselves. The list is quite long if that is the case. You can start with the old Space 1999 series and couple it with the Flash Gordon series of old should you enjoy early syfy.

After those we could skip ahead to the 80's and you have Buck Rogers in the 25th century (also has an older version) and Babylon 5 which appeared early 90's.

All great space adventures and yes there are many more that were not mentioned but these are my go to series to watch when I feel nostalgic.

I know we have a lot of fans of NCIS out there and it is rough to find something that can match it. I have done my studies and even tried finding overseas shows that would be like the long running series. My best then that for NCIS would have to be CSI (One based in Las Vegas, Nevada). It has a lot of the same elements, you have a crime and they must piece it together to make a case and find the bad guy. That is of course if you have done gone through the other two spinoffs from NCIS which are NCIS New Orleans and The NCIS: LA.

Another great show is SVU (special victims unit) which in itself has been running for quite some time now as well. It has a great storyline usually for the stand alone along with a running story from season to season. Sad to say the best then that I have been able to find was the Law and Order UK with Jamie Bamber in it. It is simply homicide and not a special victims unit.

Now Binge worthy series, If you enjoy Tudors then I think you would enjoy Spartacus and The Bastard Executioner. Both have a lot of adult situations like Tudors as well as some adventure and sword play.

I know that a lot of Game of Thrones fans are hunting for the next best thing and it actually was here all along. I would say Vikings would fit the bill for a Game of Thrones fan.

I think my final entry for if you like Harry Potter and enjoy seeing all the cool things with magic and monsters from the new series then Supernatural would be a great next step as most Potter fans are a bit older now.

Hope you like my picks and enjoy them with friends and family. They are all wonderful shows. Should you like what you have read feel free to leave a tip and keep the magic happening.
