In Canada Disney+ added Star and it brought a much needed splash of content made for the adult audience.

Disney+ recently added more adult content to their service to help target a larger audience. A lot has been added that definitely gives a variety and a lot of older series to choose from. Some audiences may not even know that these series have been added. Here are 5 series worthy of a watch or a rewatch.

5. The Killing- This series has four seasons and originally aired on AMC before jumping to Netflix for the final season. It's where American audiences first really gained exposure to Joel Kinnaman and his range. It covers three separate investigations over 4 seasons with the first two focusing on the killing of Rosie Larsen and the connections it has to the political race. The show is a slow burn but a really good character driven drama that does pay off in the long run. If you enjoy true mysteries then this one may be in your wheelhouse.

4. How I Met Your Mother- For 9 seasons Ted Mosby chased the love of his life and kept up the shenanigans with his 4 best friends. Ted is a likable lead played with charm and charisma by Josh Radnor. The final season may not live up to the classic scenes we all remember but this series has enough lovable characters and enough laughs that a second or third helping is okay. This has a great cast, some very emotional moments and hilarity that keeps you wanting more. Neil Patrick Harris was the stand out from the cast as the over the top womanizer Barney Stinson who's jokes and highly planned out flirtatious rouses became a staple for years.

3. The Simpsons- The longest lasting animated show in History has a stored place to watch the entirety from beginning to end. Yes, this moment is magical and I do believe this was available prior to star but the Simpsons is adult content worthy of a rewatch. It's a satirical look back through the history and shows us just how much this show did get right over the years. It's one of those shows that always pushed the boundaries of comedy and had a massive impact on shaping culture for the next three decades plus.

2. Criminal Minds- While only 11 of 15 seasons are currently on Disney+ that is still plenty of content to fulfil a rewatch of this series. It's dark and sadistic at times and not obviously for everyone. It works well because it's an ensemble effort that creates the team dynamic and plays to the strengths of the writers as it plays out. This show has a very loyal fan base and definitely works because of the cast and revolving door of recognizable guest stars.

1. Sons of Anarchy- 7 seasons of biker chaos and drama under one roof. In Canada this is also available on Netflix but it's one more plus to keeping Disney Plus of the question ever came to be. Lead by Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal and Charlie Hunnam this is one of the most high stakes dramas I have ever had the pleasure of watching. It's heartbreaking at times with the violence and realism and how these people and their connections fight for survival against all odds. As the tension builds through the series it culminates in a final season that is both true to the characters and full of loose ends finally getting the wrap up they deserve after 7 seasons of fantastic story telling.

The thing about all of these shows is they continue to push the boundaries. Aside from the Simpsons all the shows on this list are over but their messages are still worth audiences viewing even if it is approaching territory of way too many viewings to count.
