The community of bookish loving people on YouTube was a fast-growing community as the topic of books transformed from just reviews and lists to games and challenges. Now there are a plethora of activities that involve books and bookish topics and more are being created every day!

One of these days I will compile a fun list of these amazing people for you, but today I wanted to dive into the topic of the bookish tag.

This is something that many a good book blogger has come to love and appreciating when trying to integrate more enthusiasm for their content. While books are never dull for some you could see where the interest can wane for others.

Therefore a good bookish tag is never in poor taste.

What is a bookish tag?

In short, it is a series of questions one can make up about a certain topic or pertaining to a certain book that an individual can answer.

One will typically pose questions based on something book-related or a series of books that you have to then respond with other books of similar characteristics. It can also be based on specific themes (i.e. games, seasons, food) that can pertain to interesting questions that will make a reader think of all the books on their shelves and can help bring new titles that may not be talked about as much to the surface.

In a way it is a short book recommendation video without the long-winded explanations.

How can I participate?

Easy. You can either just find one that you like, pick out the books, or get your answers ready and film, write or upload answers for the tag.

You can also be tagged by other creators and this can work across multiple platforms. It is not just for creators on YouTube.

Once you have done a tag you have the option to tag other people as well. If there is another creator whom you follow and enjoy, a friend that loves books and bookish fun, or just anyone in the audience who maybe would like to participate feel free to let them know at the end of the video or post that you have 'tagged' them and now it is their turn.

Can I make one?

Absolutely!

I have made a few of my own and it is so spectacular to get involved with the bookish community in that way! I have enjoyed creating some fun questions that can allow you as the audience understand my reading tastes better, my personal favorite things, and non bookish related elements.

If you want to see an original tag that I made based on my love of mythology and specifically the Trojan War you can check that out down below!

Where would I even begin?

You can either base it off a specific genre, book, movie or even theme that you love. Find questions that can be answered with bookish answers whether that be characters, tropes, or standard book recommendations.

In other words, you do not need to physically have any of the books or even include books within your tag.

As I have shown you up above I made a tag that surrounded my love of mythology. That is a broad topic so I narrowed it down to the Trojan War. There is still many questions you can ask, so I based it off of the storyline of 'The Song of Achilles' by Madeline Miller.

Do not be afraid to do a little bit of research. If there is a similar tag to yours, but you have additions, you can always do remakes of the tag and give credit where it is due to the original creator as well.

I also was able to create a remake of a Love, Simon bookish tag. There were similar prompts but the questions were phrased differently. Below is the result.

As you can see there is no limit to the amount of tags you can participate in or even create when you feel confident enough to do so. There are so many great themes, books, and questions that could come of books and the bookish realm that it is not that hard to get sucked in both to creating and watching these types of videos.

Hope this helped to explain a little bit what a bookish tag is and I am hoping to come out with another bookish tag very soon and you all will be one of the first to see what happens with it.

Thank you all so much for taking the time out of your day to read this article! Hope you are having an amazing day and if you want more fun bookish content feel free to check out the channel!
