1) Miss Stevens (2016)

This independent film features stars such as Lily Rabe, one of the baddest queens from the American Horror Story series, who plays the lovely Miss Stevens herself. Another cameo is Timothee Chalamet, also known as every girl's crush, who is known for his role in the 2017 movie Call Me By Your Name. Chalamet plays a troubled teen named Billy (whose last name was not given), alongside with Riverdale's Lili Reinhart, who plays conceited Margot (whose last name was also not given or heard in the movie.) Last but not least is the openly-gay Sam, played by Youtuber, Anthony Quintal.

Okay, so now that I have introduced you to the characters, let's get down to business.

Miss Stevens is an English, who chaperones a trip to a drama competition for three of her students, Billy, Sam, and Margot. While on the journey, the foursome encounters a few challenges that they eventually overcome at the end of the movie. I don't want to spoil this movie too much, but I will say that I applaud Miss Stevens for trying her best to keep herself together for the sake of her students and herself despite facing many obstacles and internal conflict. I also praise her for setting up a barrier between her and her students. Obviously, it's okay for a teacher to be friendly with her students, but sometimes, certain lines should not be crossed. I think Rabe, as well as the rest of the characters in this coming-of-age movie, did an excellent job of playing their roles. Let's not even get into how tear-jerking Billy's monologue was towards the end of the film.

2) Very Good Girls (2013)

I have to admit, I didn't expect this to be such a good movie. I just wish that I knew what I was getting myself into. I hate any movie that is longer than an hour, but this movie was worth my time because it was perfect.

Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen play best friends, Lily, and Gerri, who are eager to lose their virginities and explore a whole new world before leaving for college. When both Lily and Gerri meet a street artist, Gerri tells the Lily that she’s interested in the guy, but the artist has no interest in Gerri, who is crushing on him. The artist has his eyes on Lily, and soon enough, they develop feelings for each other. Lily and Gerri’s friendship are put to the test as they each keep secrets from one another.

3) A Girl Like Her (2015)

I have to be honest; this movie made me so angry. The way this movie is designed to make it look like a documentary, but none of it is real. It is however inspired by actual events that has happened to many students in high school or middle school. Anyways, at the beginning of the film, a girl tries to commit suicide named Lexi and she goes straight into a coma. Meanwhile, her parents and her best friend, Brian, are upset about the news. Lexi’s parents have no knowledge of why Lexi had done what she did or know that she was getting bullied. Only Brian knows about it.

Shortly, rumors start circulating that 16-year-old Jessica Burns was bullying Lexi so much that she may have triggered Lexi to end her life. Lastly, I would also like to add that Lexi’s friend, Brian, gives her a dragonfly pin that is actually a mini-camera. The camera filmed several footage of Burns bullying Lexi and getting physical with her.

4) Return To Me (2000)

This movie is old, but it's also good.

When Bob Rueland’s wife, Elizabeth, dies in a tragic accident, her heart gets donated to a woman named Grace, who has a heart condition. A year later after his wife’s death, Bob is still trying to cope With her loss. He dated anyone since Elizabeth died and Grace, who recovered from her heart transplant, hasn't gone out with anyone either because she is self-conscious about her scar from the procedure. When Grace and Bob first meet, Bob, is unaware that Grace has had a heart transplant, let alone his wife’s heart.

5) The Cheating Pact (2013)

When it comes to taking the SATs or any college entrance exams, there are several rules and regulations that students have to follow. One of the rules is that, you cannot take a test for someone else, pretending to be them. It’s illegal, but that did not stop Meredith from taking tests for three students at her high school, including one who she used to be friends with.

Even though, Meredith is getting pressured into doing something she doesn't want to do, she does it anyway. While Meredith takes the exam for them, she, in return, gets money to pay for her brother’s physical therapy. So, everyone can have their cake and eat it too until something goes terribly wrong that causes a shift in the whole movie.
