Who will win Euros2024?

from last four teams

By Anthony Christina AmatiPublished about a month ago 5 min read

Four teams are getting ready for the Euro 2024 semifinals. England will play the Netherlands on Tuesday, while Spain will play France on Wednesday.

Spain, who last won the competition in 2012, is attempting to win it four times overall.

The Dutch won it in 1988, while France last won it 24 years ago. Of course, England is looking to break through their long drought without a European Championship.

Who is therefore the most fit for their semifinal, and who has the best chance of winning it all?

'Spain Have Shown they Have The capacity'

Spain engaged Germany in three distinct strategies. Even though Spain were the better side of the four opponents before them, They weren't against Germany. It was a different exam, though they passed it because the Spanish didn't give up and won.

It was the most fouls in a European Championship game since 2016, so it was a really rough test, but the Spanish side proved that they are no longer afraid of the physical side.

Spain played with wingers, then without wingers and no striker and then finally 4-2-4 in extra time, which means we have layers. The main thing is they adapted to everything Germany threw at them. Yes we could have lost, but we were never far away from winning it either.

Against France the Spanish know they will have to take the initiative, like they had to do against Italy, Albania and Georgia. They have to be careful against counter-attacks.

The Spanish know for France to win they do not have to play well, but Spain can also win without playing well.

The Spanish team may not be as effective with their shots as it could be, but they can break the nut eventually because they press so frequently, and that will happen against France.

Due to suspensions and Pedri's injury from the previous game, Spain will need to exercise caution when facing France's fast players, such as Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele.

But in the end, it will come down to how Spain plays both with and without the ball. Despite having fatigued legs, I think the Spanish team is the best team at pressing high.

They may defeat France, I believe, and go on to play England in the championship.

Even With Their Lackluster Results, England Is A Contender.

To overcome the Netherlands, England will need to demonstrate a stronger team effort that capitalizes on their resilience and the individual brilliance of Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka, who helped them get to the semifinals.

The Netherlands' more attacking approach may be ideal for Gareth Southgate's squad, given they have had trouble in Euro 2024 against deep-defending opponents.

Additionally, it increases the maneuverability available to England's creative players.

England's defense needs to play at its best against the Dutch, who are threatening offensively because of Liverpool's Cody Gakpo and Memphis Depay's unpredictable play.

With the possible matchup between Virgil van Dijk and Harry Kane, the respective leaders of the Netherlands, England could pose a threat to their defense if they play well.

Should a significant opportunity come up for England against Switzerland in the quarterfinals, you wouldn't bet on Kane seizing it, even if he looked physically short and slow.

Even though they haven't performed well this season, England is now one of the strongest candidates for Euro 2024. Almost against all odds, they have made it to the semi-finals, but confidence must be growing since, at this stage in major tournaments, teams often feel as though fate is on their side – think of Greece in 2004 and Portugal in 2016.

I wouldn't be surprised if England won their first big title since the World Cup in 1966, but the head says Spain and the sixth sense suggests England.

Although Spain has seemed to be the best squad in an uneven Euro 2024, they could yet lose to Didier Deschamps' highly skilled but disciplined France.

While Spain has been impressive with Lamine Yamal, who turned 17 the day before the final, a revelation in a team that also has world-class potential in the form of players like Rodri of Manchester City, none of France's players have scored a goal from open play.

Spain has a strong combination of youth and experience, is maturing as a team, and has looked like the most formidable squad right away. However, in my opinion, they will need to overcome England in order to win Euro 2024.

Yes, we have witnessed France at its best defensively. They are known for doing things this way; it's in their DNA. Having a strong defensive player is another way to win tournaments.

When it comes to the ball, they may not have performed at their best. They don't play sexy football; that's not their style. However, they haven't been good at creating opportunities. Generally speaking, they perform better in the opposition's box.

Kylian Mbappe has been the biggest letdown of this tournament, along with Cristiano Ronaldo.

There are several possibilities. The first is that he has to wear a mask because he broke his nose in Austria. He appeared quite well in that game. I don't think he is completely fit because he had some fitness problems prior to the Euros, but the mask is also causing him a lot of discomfort.

France is the team that has the greatest potential to irritate Spain in this match.

In my opinion, the outcome of Spain's midfield struggles due to Pedri's injury will depend on who prevails in the middle of the field. The game will be won in the midfield, where France's great physical presence will be felt.

Given that Antoine Griezmann has played more of his career in Spain than in France, this will be a crucial game for him. Both Mbappe and Griezmann must perform better.

France has the ruthlessness and experience of this level among the four semifinalists, and that is why I want to see them play in the final. Additionally, I believe that eventually Kylian will revert to his former self and become invincible.

'Time Up England & Netherlands'

Memphis Depay is just behind Wout Weghorst as a striker, and the Netherlands demonstrated a strong Plan B against Turkey, in my opinion.

Against Switzerland, England used five defenders, which made it quite compact in that area. If they are going to play this style, I believe that is how they should play.

With this crew, I've found that they require a wake-up call in order to start moving. They used that against Austria and then performed well against Romania. Then, when Turkey led in the quarterfinal, they had yet another wake-up call.

There is a parallel between the two teams in that there is more in them both, but it is not showing yet.

The winner, in my opinion, will emerge from the opposite side of the draw. Since they are on the other side of the draw, England and the Netherlands have not yet really been put to the test; they have met some strong teams but not the major nations.

Since Spain is playing excellent football as a team, I believe they will prevail. There's still time for England, France, and the Netherlands to pull together, but it's getting close.
