The Nostalgia of Old Games

My favorite memorable moments are playing games.

The main menu of Platypus (game).

I used to play games a lot back then, now I only play a few. You see, I had a good childhood and constantly playing games. I remember most of the aspects of the game like atmosphere, the player, the enemy, etc. However, I didn't really remember most of the name. Though I want to taste the nostalgia if I ever found the hidden gem across the internet. Anyway, today I am gonna give you a list of games that I used to play back in my childhood.

Zuma

One of Popcap's classic, a game where you played as a frog shooting a balls that comes out from it's mouth. The game mechanic is you have to prevent the balls to go inside the skull coin shaped mouth. Each level has a unique trail to where the balls move. There's also a sequel of this game called Zuma's Revenge and it has better graphics, more level, and more dynamic mechanics.

This game will be always in my heart, it's just that good and how fun it is. Is so funny that I often draws the trails of each level on the walls of my house using pencil. I rate this 10/10.

I also has played it's similar mechanics on other games. You played as a ladybug that also shoot balls, unlike Zuma, it shoots on top of its head. Sadly, I don't remember the name.

Plants vs Zombies

Another Popcap's game and I bet you know this one. I think this is Popcap most popular game. It's a tower defense game where you put plants as a defense preventing zombies to enter Crazy Dave's house. There's a bunch of stages and a final boss. The variety of plants and zombies make this game dynamically fun. The most basic plant is a Peashooter that shoot peas and Sunflower to generate suns. You need sun to produce plants.

My favorite plant is probably Chopper where it will eat most zombies at its front. I like seeing my Chopper having a meal and it's eating animation is funny. My favorite zombie is got to be the Michael Jackson, it can summon zombies on the front, on the back, up, and down.

Yeah this game is good, 10/10.

Platypus

An indie game. A game full of clay. Beautiful graphics I must say. It's astonishing from me that every instance, every sprite, every object, even the background it's made with clay. This is a side scrolling shooting game where you shoot to enemies blocking your path.

I honestly has not, even once, finished the game. In fact I am stuck at level 2 that time and somehow I don't wanna play this game again. It's hard for me. But it's graphics that made me love this game. I say 8/10.

Typer Shark Deluxe

Another Popcap's game, a game where you dive deep into the ocean. As you descend, predators will try to reach you. Your defense is to write the letters inside the predators before you got bitten. If you successfully write the word, the predators will be electrocuted preventing reaching to you.

This game is the reason why I am able to type fast. The amount of sharks to type is a lot and somehow I was able to type as fast as I could. It's challenging. If you want to type fast and having fun, then this game is for you. 9/10.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My father's laptop has a folder of full list of games. There's a lot I played but I don't remember so above list is pretty much I mostly played than the others. Popcap is the goat of my childhood games, while GameHouse is the second. I almost played every games they had. I heard Popcap was bought by EA and went downfall sadly. Still I am glad they exist.

Thanks for reading this, hope you enjoy! :)
