Sims 4: Maxis Match CC for Fantasy Gameplay

Part 1: Furniture CC

So you want to make a medieval, fantasy or historical gameplay save file? I hear you! A fair warning in advance this post may have to be split into separate parts. I encountered a lot of goodies recently while trying to make my own save file and I don't hear them talked about enough, so here.

Ta da~~

(Sims 4 cc creators will always be found on tumblr, personal blogs, curse forge and patreon. Lately creators like to use boosty, and other sites. I've made an exception for boosty but I typically stick to tumblr and patreon as the rest feel sketch to browse on.)

Quick Glossary Terms:

_________________________________________________

MM- Maxis Match = custom content that looks like sims 4 textures ( like it was made by EA)

CC- custom content (in sims 4 context) = goodies made by other fans and folks who know how to make video game objects, clothing, hair, game features etc. You can easily download it and just drop it in their mods folder unless they specify otherwise.

Poly- short for poly count or file size of cc. Basically how many polygons are in the cc. Higher numbers typically take a toll on your PC if it's not high end. But how high is too high? Depends on what it is. Jewelry is typically lower, but if it's for shoes, clothing or furniture you can expect it to be a little higher.

You can often tell if you have too much cc if your game is slow, IF your game is slow even without cc, I recommend upgrading your computer or just stick to the normal game and learn to use debug items and the T.O.O.L mod.

There are a lot of folks who don't like cc but will download Twisted Mexi's T.O.O.L mod that lets them position and rotate things freely.

First, we're going to start with the furniture, to play a fantasy sims 4 save file you're going to need something to do. Create your setting. Decide first on what type of fantasy that is. Regardless we can agree that you're usually going for antique furniture.

(But if you're looking for futuristic stuff too, stay tuned)

SimderTalia

I only recently discovered them and the second I did, boy did I fall hard fast, which is what I always say, but seriously they're just one of my favorites now. I love coming across hidden gem cc creators! Anyway, they mainly make Animal Crossing New Horizon (ACNH) conversion cc, which I don't play, but they also have other stuff, antique stuff perfect for a fantasy setting, you just have to keep scrolling or better yet use the filter to skip to the bottom.

Now they're style is maxis match but also slightly more cartoonish, like ACNH.

Lumenniveus

Recently discovered them today as well, they have a few gothic antique set packs (SUMMONING GOTHS, CHECK THIS OUT). They are bread and butter worthy, but they seem to only share their stuff on tumblr which is why they're hidden. Make sure to read their list and pay close attention to everything within their save file.

1. Runestone CC set

2. Rituals and Rites CC set

This isn't exactly gothic but it's still antique.

3. Motel Murder Set

They also have a sci-fi set for those of you looking here! This pack is related to strangerville, but if you're the type who likes building futuristic saves, you should check this out.

(extra): Hydroponic Bizarrerie?

And finally something perfect for your fantasy set.

5. Ranch Remixed

I can list what else they have but you get the gist, you could go wild just by binge-downloading their stuff.

Joyceisfox

An individual that's become my bread and butter. I'd say their work is mainly cottage core-esque stuff. You can sift through it and find things you might need for your fantasy tale.

Myshunosun

I believe I don't need to explain the following as to why you need this. To use the cauldron you will need the Realm of Magic Pack.

There's something about the Mandel Kitchen set- it's jars perhaps that just made me want to pretend they were potions or ingredient jars for an alchemist.

And then there's my personal go to because I'm obsessed with the mushroom basket and clutter.

If you really wanted to you could put all of myshunosun's cc to use for your fantasy world set.

Lilis Palace

They make historical cc, and whether you're trying to create a historical save or an antiquated build with culture and character, Lilis Palace is your go-to regardless.

The Homestead set screams village vibes. I fell for it all, in fact stumbling across good cc is my problem because it makes me want to create worlds to play with it. I need to finish what I start, let's do that this year.

The folklore set also, something about it also reminds me a little of my childhood, I think it's the sheets.

We don't have enough fences in the sims 4, and that's just facts. A decent fence can say so much about a place.

Once again Lilis Palace dedicates themselves to making historical stuff, you could honestly use most of the stuff you see here, and if that's not enough...

Sixam

This is just an add-on for horse ranch.

That tub is something a villager would bathe in. Ah, the off-grid life.

I'd also like to recommend the Charming Chalet , and Kessler Kitchen. The cabinets and the stove are so unique I think they could be put to good use for something. Then there's obviously Wednesday Goth Bedroom.

Then there's the Princess and the Vampire Kit- a furniture bedroom kit for children.

I think it's pretty fitting for fantasy a bit more than real life don't you?

S-Imagination's Edwards Cabinetry

There's something about the set that spoke to me, I didn't listen to its whispers to download it but perhaps you can put it to better use.

Natalia Auditore

Natalia has everything fantasy that you will ever need, whether you are making a fantasy save file or not, looking for poses and accessory items for storytelling, they have a lot of useful items and content essential for storytelling and fantasy. I will not even display anything, just go to them. Go live there. Never come back.

Kate Emerald

They specialize in building and sharing their builds on social media but they've also dabbled in making furniture cc (They also have cute dog and cat cc so do check them out).

Clutter Cat

Clutter Cat has a lot of useful clutter and cc that can add a special flare and pixie dust to some of your builds. Here's some I think might be useful.

I mean that chest just screams magical doesn't it?

This pack will add some much needed flare for your edgier sims.

If you're writing a mermaid fantasy, you will definitely want this set.

Then there's the most obvious choice. Clutter Cat and Felixandre's Fairylicious set.

Felixandre

They don't specialize in making historical furniture cc but they do like to capture different parts of the worlds, its architecture, and time periods. You can check out their patreon to find their ancient Egypt cc, but you should be able to find what you're looking for on their website House of Harluxe (I'd be here all day listing off their cc so just look haha).

Harrie

I've always thought their "Country" Kitchen set is perfect for a tavern, or personal kitchen in a fantasy setting.

KIRSICCA

Now this is a recent discovery. With the Sims 4 update that finally allows players to color their ceiling, cc has been released to accomodate.

You have to admit their content screams "FANTASSSSI!" doesn't it?

Terrain paint can go a long way.

Please check them out.

remysa

Another recent find. They specialize in converting cc from their favorite games into Sims 4 CC like Genshin and Hogwarts Legacy.

Priceless. Don't be intimidated by the fact they use Boosty, most of their content is FREE.

For a fantasy build, kooky vegetation can really sell the story!

They also make clothing cc so you do not want to write them off! I tried to share some more but it wouldn't appear so do feel free to check them out. They are very much similar to Natalia Auditore in that they make a lot of fantasy cc so go there and live!

Syboulette (or Syboubou)

There comes a time in our lives where we look at alpha cc and want to make an exception. Syboulette is a cc creator who used to make textured alpha cc but nowadays their content leans more towards maxis match textures.

Spiral Staircase and doors that give dungeon vibes

Medieval bathtub

Alpha brick fences, doors, stairs etc.

Spiral staircase sets

gorgeous elevators

lunamoth

I've saved the best for last. This cc creator that makes both furniture, clothing and other content. But most importantly they've made a fantasy cc list of their own as well. So feel free to check them out.

This is only part one of this post. If I find anything more I will be sure to update but for now, I will be transitioning into clothing cc.
