Esports is rapidly growing all around the world, rivaling traditional sports in popularity. Every year, esports tournaments get harder and more competitive. Games like League of Legends, Counterstrike, PUBG Mobile, Valorant, etc. organize multiple events in a year offering a whooping prize pool, where a number of esports athletes and teams participate to showcase their skills, passion, and competitive spirit. 

1. League of Legends World Championship 

League of Legends World Championship, aka LoL Worlds, is a premier event of the popular game League of Legends, which is organised by Riot Games. 

The recent edition of LoL Worlds was held in South Korea offering a huge prize pool of $2,225,000. The event set a record for peak viewers, reaching a high of 6,402,760. The competitive level of LoL Worlds enhances every year, making it difficult to dominate here continuously. 

2. Dota 2: The International 

The International (TI) is the most popular esports tournament in Dota 2. Annually organized by Valve, the TI is known for its huge prize pool. The 2021 edition hit the all-time highest prize pool in esports, which was $40,018,195 where Team Spirit clinched the title.

Every edition of this tournament takes place in different countries and is watched by millions of people. The International 2024 will take place in Denmark from September 4 to 15, 2024. 

3. Free Fire World Series 

Free Fire World Series, aka FFWS, is an official global tournament of the popular battle royale mobile game Free Fire, hosted by its developer Garena. The 2021 edition holds the record for the second-highest peak viewers in esports tournaments, achieving 5.41 million views. 

Teams from all over the world participated in the final event, making it one of the hardest esports tournaments to win. In the 2024 edition, teams from Southeast Asia, Brazil, Latin America, the Middle East, Africa, and other regions are competing to play in the global finals at the end of the year. 

4. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang World Championship 

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang The World Championship is an annual esports championship for the popular mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Organized by Moonton, the recent edition of the tournament achieved 5,067,107 peak viewers.  

This tournament showcases intense competition annually, featuring some of the best teams and players from all around the world. The 2024 edition are to be held in Malaysia, where top teams from Asia, North America, MENA, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East & North America will compete.

5. Counter-Strike Major Championship 

Counter-Strike Major Championships, aka Majors, are the premier esports tournaments of Counter-Strike, which is sponsored by Valve. This is one of the most popular esports tournaments, where fans gather in large numbers to watch their favorite players play.

The 2021 edition holds the fifth all-time high peak viewers record in esports tournaments, achieving 2,748,434. The 2024 edition is set to take place in Saudi Arabia at the end of the year. 

6. PUBG Mobile Global Championship 

The PUBG Mobile Global Championship is a premier event of PUBG Mobile, which is annually organized by Krafton and Tencent Games. The 2021 edition of the tournament had the highest peak viewers of 380,988, and the prize pool for every edition is quite amazing.

The best players and teams from all around the world compete for the title glory in various venues each year. The recent edition was won by IHC Esports from Mongolia.

7. Valorant Champions Tour

The Valorant Champions Tour, aka VCT, is a global esports tournament series of popular first-person tactical shooter games. The series hosts multiple events each season, culminating in Valorant Champions, the tour's premier event.  

The 2023 edition of the Valorant Champions had a whopping prize pool of $2,250,000. The Valorant Champions feature the best teams from VCT, showcasing their skills, passion, and competitive spirit in an offline tournament. 

8. Rainbow Six Siege: Six Invitational 

Six Invitational is Rainbow Six Siege's official tournament, hosted by Ubisoft. The latest edition had a huge prize pool of $3,000,000 and was hosted in Brazil.

The top 20 teams from all around the world compete in the tournament, showing off their amazing skills in a 5v5 shooter game.
