The Pool Encounter

A few months ago we put in a pool. Oh yes, my name is Dave and I had a family with two kids and a lovely wife. I thought all was well so we splurged on a pool, just a simple above ground that we sunk to be about a foot above the ground and built a nice deck all around it. Nothing earth shattering.

What I did not know then was my wife had set me up to be broke by the time her divorce papers came through the system so she could take the girls and herself to live in California with her old boyfriend who has some beachfront property. I just put myself into my work to fill up the time and try not to think about it. I rarely used the pool except to check the chemicals and make sure it was cleaned every week. The girls loved to swim when they visited.

My office had an event that was held at one of the local parks and it was extremely hot that day. I thought to myself it would be a great night for a swim.
