Why do they scream so loudly? he thought. The door had been unlocked—an open invitation. Its oiled hinges were silent as he closed it behind him. Shoes off, he made no sound as he crept upstairs.
“I’m home!” he shouted. The excitement of his daughters nearly blew out his eardrums.

If walls as old as this could talk, they might speak in slightly confused ancient Egyptian or perhaps sneeze at the dusty palm fronds that beckoned outside the entrance to the temple. That is, if they hadn't spent the last fifty years being tramped through by American visitors who flashed pictures on their cameras - and later iPhones. Slow to learn, the walls were used to being admired or ignored, and shivered as they were scratched upon with small metal picks by unsupervised children hieroglyphing their initials into insults or hearts in the odd and shadowed corners: AL + BJ. Digilibraries
I'll never beat The Art of War. But let me explain why. About a month ago, I received an invitation from DigiLibraries to post my books there. Obviously, they post free ebooks. I have several ebooks I have authored and I post them for people to download for free, even though I retain the copyright. It's free for the reader, but that doesn't mean people can use my writing without my permission.
