"Special Scrabble"
A Micro Fiction Love Story
The scrabble tiles rattled in the bag as she drew. She gave him a suspicious look.
“You’ve already picked ALL of your tiles? Why so many?”
“We’re playing "Special Scrabble".”
“"Special Scrabble"?”
“Just play along. I’m going first. Close your eyes.”
Eyes shut, she could hear his tiles clicking down on the board.
“Open them.”
She did; the breath caught in her throat and her heart skipped a beat.
“Will you marry me” was spelled out. He was down on one knee with a ring in hand.
She smiled, blushed, and looked down at her tiles to spell a response.

An Uprising Begins
Elden's favorite part of the Desivion rite of passage ritual was when they tossed the shell into the Well with their prayers for the return of the Gods of the Desivian Sea's love for each other and then the participants all formed a circle and held hands and sang their prayers. The families of those receiving their Desivion Ceremony also formed a circle, behind theirs, and joined in the songs – teaching them, really, as they had not been taught outside of the home since before he could remember.

About Writing
Most people talk about things that bother them as a way to vent their emotions, another way is through writing. As I sit writing in my car, I ponder how much writing, in itself, has helped me become the person I am today. I have endless amounts of pages filled with poems, stories, and sometimes random blurbs. Writing is a window into your soul. The simple action of writing has benefited me; by helping me to achieve a better memory, helping me to learn and grow intellectually, and helping me to communicate my emotions.
