Sitting in his tiny, dimly lit security office, Hank Thompson sighed deeply. It was a typical Tuesday night at the Mall of Eastwood, and the highlight of his shift had been a misplaced set of car keys in the food court. At 55, Hank had seen a lot in his time as a security guard, but nothing could prepare him for what was about to unfold.

The mall had been hosting a cosplay convention, and the place was crawling with people dressed as everything from superheroes to wizards. Hank wasn’t a fan of these events – too many kids, too much noise.

A sudden commotion broke Hank from his daydream. The sound of raised voices and the unmistakable crash of something – or someone – hitting the floor echoed through the mall. Hank groaned, grabbed his flashlight, and trudged toward the noise.

As he rounded the corner, Hank couldn't believe his eyes. In the middle of the concourse, near the fountain, two costumed figures were grappling furiously. One was unmistakably Goku from *Dragon Ball Z*, complete with spiky hair and an orange gi.

“What the hell…” Hank muttered, stepping closer. He could hear snippets of their argument.

“Ponyboy, you bumped into me on purpose!” Goku was shouting, his face red with anger.

“It’s Pegasus, you uncultured swine!” the Brony yelled back, his voice muffled by the costume. “And you started it by hogging the photo booth!”

Hank rolled his eyes and stepped between them. “Alright, break it up! Both of you!” he barked, pushing them apart with a firm hand.

Goku glared at him, his fists clenched. “This guy's been following me around all day, trying to pick a fight!”

“I did no such thing!” the Brony protested, crossing his plush-covered arms. “He’s just mad because I called his Kamehameha weak.”

Hank sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Listen, I don’t care who started it or why. This is a mall, not a battlefield. You wanna fight, go do it somewhere else.”

The Brony’s oversized head made it hard for him to look Hank in the eye, but his voice was defiant. “I have a right to be here, just like him. And his costume isn’t even accurate! Goku’s hair is supposed to be more yellow, not orange!”

Goku took a step forward, but Hank quickly blocked him. “Enough! Both of you, cool it!” He turned to Goku. “Look, man, I know you’re into your character, but this is ridiculous. You’re scaring the shoppers.”

Goku grumbled but relaxed his stance. “Fine, but he needs to back off.”

Hank then faced the Brony. “And you. If you’ve got a problem with someone, you handle it like an adult, not by picking fights in public.”

The Brony huffed. “I was just defending my fandom. My Little Pony means a lot to me.”

Hank softened slightly. “I get it, but there’s a time and place. Now, both of you apologize and go your separate ways.”

There was a tense moment before Goku sighed and muttered, “Sorry.”

The Brony nodded. “Yeah, me too.”

Hank watched as they reluctantly shook hands, then went their separate ways, each muttering about the other under their breath. He couldn’t help but chuckle to himself as he headed back to his office.

As Hank settled back into his chair, he thought about how strange his job could be. “You can’t make this stuff up,” he said to himself, shaking his head. Boredom was a constant companion in his line of work, but every now and then, a little excitement went a long way. Even if it did come in the form of a Goku versus Brony showdown.
