Friends Chitra Aravindan (Siddharth), Tambesh (Jagan), Aarti (Priya Bhavani Shankar) and Harish (Rishi Kant) take videos against bribery and corruption in the society and upload them on their YouTube channel 'Parking Dogs' to create awareness. A group of friends, fed up with the country's deterioration due to excessive bribery and corruption, believe that only the return of the Indian grandfather can save the country.

The hashtag #COMEBACKINDIAN is making a demand on social media to bring back the mysterious Indian grandfather Senapati who disappeared many years ago. As it goes viral, the information goes to Senapati, who runs an art training school in Taiwan. The story of 'Indian 2' is the story of 'Indian', who listens to the voice of the people and comes back to India to get rid of social evils like bribery and corruption.

Kamal Haasan has mixed in the same style as Senapati, body for action. He has added strength to the film with his voice. But the over-the-top make-up eats away at Kamal Haasan's compelling performance in emotional scenes. Hairdressing and prosthetics are all artificial! Siddharth has perfected the character by being attractive as a vibrant young man and giving the required performance in emotional scenes. The overacting could have been reduced in only a few places.

Jagan, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Rishi Kanth have done well with the minimum given to them. Rakul Preet Singh, who happens to be Siddharth's girlfriend, doesn't even have that job. Samuthirakani, Nedumudi Venu, Delhi Ganesh, Renuka and Manobala stand out among the many supporting characters. Bobby Simha and Vivek as conventional CBI officers. Vivek makes you laugh only at certain places. As villains, Gulshan and Zakir Hussain are playful rather than villainous. A dozen actors like SJ Surya, Thambi Ramaiah, Kalidas Jayaram, Iman Annachi come and go, and that's it!

Cinematographer Ravivarman's presence can be felt in the action sequences and grand scenes. Srikar Prasad is the editor of 'Ichthth...Thiru' without showing strictness about the unnecessary songs and long action sequences of the first half. In Anirudh's music, only the song 'Datta Varararu' gives the vibe, the rest are just speed bumps! Anirudh disappoints by giving a weak background score to a weak screenplay. Only the music snippets from the first part of 'Indian' have been used for enjoyment here and there. Art Director T. Muthuraj. The work of the action design team consisting of Anparivu, Ramazan, Anal Govsara, Peter Hein, Stunt Silva and Thiagarajan is noteworthy.

While the idea of a youth group raising awareness of bribery and corruption in a contemporary format as a YouTube video is interesting, Shankar's writing team has dragged it and filled the entire first half. Unnecessary songs and random supporting characters come and go as 'unnecessary nails'. Senapati's character and the tactics he uses to kill the villains are a bit interesting in the beginning, but the page after page of dialogues explaining Varmakala, illogically long scenes etc. wastes it. References to previous Shankar films were sporadic but did not yield the desired results.
