A son born of Christ and Lucifer lived in the darkest recesses of life, where light dreaded to walk and shadows spoke of awful things. Elysium, the Harbinger of Twilight, his name rang through the emptiness like a terrible whisper.

Elysium was a herald of doom and strife from the moment of conception. His birth marked omens of catastrophe among the celestial spheres since he carried within him the opposing essences of light and darkness, purity and corruption. Reflecting his mixed background, his eyes gleamed with an uncomfortable mix of brilliant affection and evil intent.

The presence of Elysium inspired both angels and demons to both terror and awe. Whispers of his birth sent shivers down the spines of the celestial host in Heaven since they sensed in him the ability to upset the cosmic balance. Demons murmured sinister forecasts of his arrival in Hell, seeing him as a weapon to be used against their constant enemies.

Elysium’s development made his nature progressively sinister. Drawing even the most rigid souls into his web of influence with promises of knowledge and power, he had a charm that could persuade even the most solid souls. Benevolent as his exterior was, underneath it lurked a darkness inherited from his dead father, Lucifer, which tormented even the toughest of hearts.

Elysium evolved in the celestial courts as a symbol of both wonder and terror. Like a siren’s melody, he attracted angels and demons both into his plans and operations. As he dug into ancient books and sacrosanct ceremonies threatening to tear apart the fabric of creation itself, whispers of forbidden knowledge and forbidden rites rang in his wake.

But Elysium was unique not only in intelligence and charm but also in his propensity for cruelty. Under his angelic appearance was a heart as frigid as the emptiness, able of unimaginable deeds of torture and control. He delighted in the pain of others, savoring the agony and hopelessness he planted like seeds in a parched ground.

Elysium stood in the middle of the storm, guiding events with a terrible accuracy as the celestial domains sank into anarchy. Playing both sides against one another, he stoked the flames of war until the skies themselves shook with the ferocity of conflict. At his will, angels descended from grace and devils ascended to new depths of depravity.

In the last, apocalyptic struggle tearing across the sky, Elysium’s actual nature became clear in all its terrible beauty. He delighted in the bloodshed and devastation, his laughter resounding like thunder among the swords’ clash and the dying screams. He left a trail of broken wings and shattered halos as he sliced a path of destruction across the celestial ranks with every stroke of his blade.

Elysium triumphantly emerged among the remains of Heaven and Hell both after the dust settled and the blood-red heavens cleared. His eyes glittered with a terrible joy as he looked at the devastation he had created, evidence of his ravenous need for authority and dominance.

Elysium then rose to his proper position as the Prince of Shadows, a black king over a lifetime of darkness. His name became a curse upon the lips of angels and demons both, a sign of fear and misery haunting the dreams of the devout and the fallen both.

Elysium reigned supreme — a living nightmare born of the union of Christ and Lucifer, permanently cursed to walk the shadows of creation, a twisted reflection of what may have been — in the depths of the abyss, where the souls of the damned wailed out in pain.
