Jeff hated elevators. He always took the stairs, even if it meant climbing ten floors. The fire alarm was blaring, smoke rapidly filling the corridors. Running to the nearest elevator.

The doors opened, along with other panicked people. Descending. Jeff felt the sweat dripping from him.

The elevator stopped abruptly. Hearing loud snapping and screams. Jeff opened his eyes, witnessing the horror. The cable sheared; the elevator was falling. He felt weightless and helpless. Jeff grabbed the handrail, bracing for impact.

Sensation never arrived.

Waking up in hospital.

“You’re the sole survivor.”

Oh man, this is terrifying! Elevators scare me. That ending is something else - being the only survivor 🥺 Well done!
