She woke me up again last night. I don't get it. When you can choose your dreams, why choose bad ones?

I reached for her, and she didn't say, I'm sleepy, or anything like that. She didn't stiffen.

I did.

Her knee nudged between mine and slid up, her hands wandering. She knows my buttons, and how to press them.

When she straddled me, put me where she wanted me, I groaned into her hair. "Not such a bad dream, then," I murmured into her ear. She stopped my mouth with hers.

I didn't think much of it until I was driving to work this morning. That happened last time, too.

Why is my wife turned on by her nightmares? Just what kind of fucked-up shit is she enjoying inside her cozy skull where I can't reach or see?

She's never been that into anything kinky. Or so I thought. Seems she has a twisted side I've never seen.

Could be fun, finding out. But... She's avoided telling me for so long for a reason.

This doesn't dampen my curiosity. Quite the opposite. Is there any way to see what dreams someone is having? Choosing?

It niggled away at me all morning. At lunchtime, I check the DreamFix website. A plan forms. I can't wait. I get permission to go home.

The house is empty. I lie on her side of the bed, with the machine set up. I've got SleepAssist switched on as well, because I've never been good at day-napping. I'm not even sure this will work... It can't reproduce the dream by poking around in my head. It's done it enough times, maybe it won't need any new material.

I close my eyes...

I'm straight, but I can see he's not bad-looking. I don't recognise him, but he must be someone she's seen. The DreamFix can't invent faces. I can't see what's so scary about him. He doesn't say much.

He leans too close, too familiar. His arms go around my waist, his lips brush my neck. I-

-gasp awake, the shock of it. His beard, his scent, my burning jealousy.

Yeah, I'd be stung as well. It's the choice element isn't it.
