Broken Soul

Lost, Abandoned, Forgotten... Hopeless.

By Jessica PhoenixPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Sylvin sat in the strangling darkness, his pride broken.

His long tail draped on the floor behind him like a ragged curtain; forgotten, destroyed. Humiliated, he shied away from all life, confining the shame of having been embarrassed in front of those he knew. The feathers that were once always skyward, no matter the strain, now hung loosely down, like a dying plant. He wished for his pride to once again ignite; for his crest to rise upwards like it so often used to. For decades, he laid alone… for a peacock without pride could not call himself a peacock.
